Is this mobile sam since S200 is mostly a static system and a prime target for cruise missiles. Libya also had static s200 sites that were eradicated by nato cm strikes.

One option is to combine shorad vshorad to protect these sites like pantsyr clones. Mock wooden replicas will also confuse the spy satellites or enemy drones.

Also the range of 200km for s200 and static system has disadvantages.

Cold war era 50s usa sam bomarc for example utilizes a ramjet and a simple booster design having 500km range.Large nose on these types of sams can employ a better longer range radar. For a modern adaptation it can even carry a small ir a2a missile making it a ramjet powered ucav. Seeker can parachute down for reuse.

It wont need a direct hit if it carries an air to air missile. That also means early warning scan radars can be used without the need of pinpoint tracking and perhaps not revealing the position of the radar.

Indeed,this system was thoroughly obsolescent not to mention completely compromised by western ecm/ew when iran bought it,if still baffles me why iran bought outdated crap like this instead of trying to acquire 90s model s300

In many nations. Iran had been operating it because until now we had no long-range air defence system to replace it. That will change with the S-300 and Bavar-373. I expect it to be phased out in the coming decade.

AFAIK you cant compare the old soviet S-200 with the Iranian S-200 version.
Its heavily upgraded, new components/electronics/radar...

The big problem with this system is its simple lack of mobility and by extension survivability,large fixed sam systems like this regardless of whatever upgrades you may perform on them are by their very nature extremely vulnerable,in fact many would say they are virtually sitting ducks.
