Indonesia proposes broader use of renminbi in ASEAN

LOL OMG what an ABSOLUTE noob comparing the yuan to the Zimbabwean dollar.

Do you actually realise how stupid you have to be to do such a comparison?

That's got to be the stupidest comment I've ever read on PDF.
He wasted a lot of Canadian tax money. Canada in recent years have allowed these type of people to immigrate here. We lost our competitive edge.

No need to add insult to injury, bro. its economy is dying with inflation rate 7%, much higher than growing rate due to CNY down.

Because all investors like JP-Taiwan-Sing are coming to VN to get the benefit from TPP deal and help VN to get rich, of course none TPP nations like ID have no choice but to seek help from other none TPP nation like CN. Bad thing is that instead of receiving help from others none TPP nations like CN, the fall of CNY hit ID economy so hard ....

Another economic expert wannabe, spurting nonsense! All over the world, countries feeling the heat of economic pressure. Yet this man thinking VN have any advantage over the others. Repeatedly whispering TPP mantra. VN will go rich... VN will go rich... VN will go rich... pathetic

by the way, in case you don't know our mekong neighbors laos, cambodia, thailand and burma on the indochinese mainland are more important than asean. We have established a bloc. The gang of five. haven't you noticed the numerous summits between the mekong club with other great powers in the world, from america to china to japan? without your participation. eitherway, you can continue living in your delusional world. I don't care.

I don't need to know anything about vietnam from you. just get lost.

.
Coming to VN to get big benefit in TPP is what TW investors said despite Vnese beat them up so bad during the riots. Money talks, dude
In addition, Taiwanese firms plan to invest in a textile production chain in Vietnam to benefit from the upcoming Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP), Tang said.
Firms from China, Taiwan flocks from Mainland to Vietnam

Of course Investors will leave ID cos no TPP benefit there .

OMG we got a moron ova' hier!

Vietnam is in a lot worse shape than ever. I've been there many times for pleasure and business. But at the meantime Vietnamese government does not have a lot of money. The Viets were bragging about buying A380. Not going to happen.

They are so desperate for cash that the government scrapped the cap for foreign ownership.

Other bad news, Vietnam productivity is low compared to other ASEAN countries. They dream about becoming an economic power like China, but I don't know if possible with these lazy bunch.

Plus their unions are asking for more money for less productivity!

Of course these dirty viets love to nitpick on China's devaluation but look what they have done:
"
On August 19 the State Bank of Vietnam, the nation's central bank, devalued the dong for the third time this year in a bid to protect the export sector by countering the adverse affects of a strengthening dollar and yuan devaluation.
On the same day it also widened the dollar/dong trading band for the second time in a week. Year to date, the dong has lost 5 percent value against the dollar, the largest devaluation per annum since 2011."

Vietnanese are not smart people. To this day I've not met an intelligent Vietnamese.

Yep, we dont deny that VND also down, but its just for remaining stable export goals while neccessarities price like food-medicine-inflation rate in VN still dont go up like in ID .

So what dude. Any prospective investors will say that to the host nations. Wake up. You can choose what you believe, but remember the fact that there's always 2 side of every coin. or 6 if we play dice...

Higher Open Called For Indonesia Stock Market

Higher Open Called For Indonesia Stock Market

8/27/2015 10:00 PM ET
The winning streak has hit three sessions now for the Indonesia stock market, which has climbed more than 250 points or 6 percent in that span. The Jakarta Composite Index settled just below the 4,430-point plateau, and the market is looking at another firm start again on Friday.

The global forecast for the Asian markets is broadly positive as the markets are expected to continue to claw back after the heavy selling that took place earlier this week. The European and U.S. markets were sharply higher, and the Asian bourses are expected to follow suit.

The JCI finished sharply higher on Thursday following gains from the financial shares and the resource stocks.

For the day, the index surged 192.89 points or 4.55 percent to finish at 4,430.63 after trading between 4,295.70 and 4,433.46. Volume was 4.69 billion shares worth 5.73 trillion rupiah. There were 246 gainers and 70 decliners, with 74 stocks finishing unchanged.

Among the actives, Astra Agro Lestari surged 10.48 percent, while Aneka Tambang jumped 5.21 percent, Pacific Strategic Financial collected 2.11 percent, Alam Sutera Realty jumped 8.00 percent, Bank Central Asia climbed 6.33 percent, Bank Danamon Indonesia soared 10.36 percent, Bank Negara Indonesia spiked 9.99 percent, Bank Mandiri advanced 5.26 percent, Exploitasi Energi Indonesia added 1.82 percent and XL Axiata perked 4.82 percent. The lead from Wall Street continues to be firm as stocks surged on Thursday, extending the recovery rally that started in the previous session and further offsetting the sell-off in the past couple weeks. The Dow surged 369.26 points or 2.3 percent to 16,654.77, while the NASDAQ jumped 115.17 points or 2.5 percent to 4,812.71 and the S&P 500 shot up 47.15 points or 2.4 percent to 1,987.66. The continued strength was the result of bargain hunting following the steep drop in the six sessions prior to Wednesday. A rally by Chinese stocks also generated some positive sentiment. Traders also reacted to the latest batch of U.S. economic data, including a report showing stronger than estimated economic growth in the second quarter. A separate report from the Labor Department showed a modest decrease in initial jobless claims in the week ended August 22, while the National Association of Realtors said that pending home sales rebounded less than expected in July.

Okay okay, just think in the way you like, just keep using CNY even it may fall deeper in the future, but VN wont use CNY in trading for sure.

btw: DO you know that CN also got a hyper inflation rate and its CNY was as worthless as Zimbabwe note ??

First tell me, where did you get your economic degree? Your comprehension on economic matters is NOT convincing at all.

I dont need to convince you guys, VN-ID almost dont have any trade deal. I just hope you guys can stop dragging ASEAN into your 'proposal' when you economy is going down and get even worse in the fall of CNY. Vietnam-Thailand-Laos-Cambodia-Myanmar are so busy in creating a wealthy sub-Mekong region with the help of Japan now .

Yeah, but this combine wealth of sub-mekong grouping is still no match for Indonesia economic might. We own 40% of the ASEAN economy. If we add Philippines, Malaysia and singapore, it's already 75%.

Guys, seriously... VN is placed almost at the bottom of ASEAN's economic pyramid. Don't brag too much.

Indonesia economic 'might' is going down in the fall of CNY with inflation rate up to 7 % while growing rate is below 5%.

VN is at the bottom because we sufferred a very long hard war, but thing changed, we are TPP member now and Japan will pour its investment to VN instead of ID. ID also lose it major export market like USA-JP-Sing bcs they are TPP nation and it will make ID economy get even worse. So I think that ID will replace VN to take the bottom of ASEAN's economic position soon .

Pls note that TPP deal completed 98 % already :)

That's just your wishful thinking. Indonesia economy is slowing down today, so what? so does 90% of world economy. In fact we are in much better shape than most of the countries currently facing global economic downturn. That's the fact. High inflation, yes. But we still can manage and keep it under control. What is 7%, we already face double digit infation before and survive. Not just survive, but keep geting bigger and stronger.

VN is at the bottom. It's fact, whatever the reason. Your TPP mantra is something that you think WILL bring investment to your country, and WILL change the fortune for the better for VN, and WILL bring VN to the top of economic game, and WILL solve all VN economic problem. See... how pathetic is that.

You are clearly a victim of modern superstition. Just put your trust on TPP, and everything WILL gonna be alright... :D

how about a deal? we both shut up. I'm not going to mention your country indo, while you stop making remarks about vietnam and asean.

GDP of ASEAN Indochina countries.
Laos 11 B
Cambodia 49 B
Thailand 397 B
Vietnam 205 B

Even with Vietnam + Mekong countries GDP summed, still won't match entire Indonesia's GDP which nearly one Trillion (895 B) and its attractive 250+ million of market. Vietnam join ASEAN in 1992, three decades after its formation in 1960's. If you think you're strong and mature enough to lead this region, you're entirely wrong. Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore is the main source of power of ASEAN

Malaysia has good HDI index, rich in resources despite its small population and soon to leave its third world status.

Singapore for long has achieved status of Tiger of Asia, with advanced economy, HDI, and undoubtly advanced military both in number and technology.

While we're big enough to keep our neutrality and independent view backed with strong population size, and stable economic base to keep ASEAN from being aligned to a bloc, which could lead this region to unexpected future.
