I am suprised too I used to think that Turkey has advanced manufacturing capabilities.

Turkey is producing over a million cars per year for European and domestic market.

We are producing cars under licence... Renault, Man, Ford, Hyundai, Toyota, etc..

but we don't have a indigenous automobile brand that's the problem.

Automobile sector can earn huge amount of foreign currency.

We could have a brand long times ago if we wanted, many firms are producing military vehicles, trucks, buses , as well as licenced cars but I guess they thought a local brand would be a risky project.

Never heard of Albayrak but there are some good bus manufacturer in Turkey such as BMC and Temsa.
