According to a defence spokesman, 19-year-old Ali was posted as a sepoy in 25 Frontier Force, currently deployed at Safiullah-II post along the Loc. He was in civil dress and unarmed when he was caught.

He, told his interrogators that he was frustrated with the shoddy treatment in his battalion so he left it. He also said that he was under immense pressure from his seniors.

There is no double standard. Indian media might lie about Pakistani soldier but they would never lie about Indian soldiers.

It is a matter of common sense.

Though the Army was tight lipped over the matter,the police confirmed that a Pakistan Army regular was apprehended in Kerni sector at 6 am on Wednesday.

“We have been told by Army officers that he is a deserter,fed up with the attitude of his seniors,’’ said a senior police officer. Over 36 hours after his apprehension,the soldier is yet to be handed over to the police by the Army,the police officer added.

Sources identified the soldier as Arif Ali,19,son of Bashir Ahmed of Quetta. He was deployed with Charli Company of 25 Frontier Force at a forward Pakistani post Saifullah2 opposite India’s Kerni village in Poonch district,they said.

Even after their soldier crossed over, they were running around like headless chicken making excuses.
1: He crossed inadvertently.
2: He is a desserter
3: He had an argument with others and crossed over in a fit of rage.
Where as he was fed up my mistreatment by his seniors.......several recent videos support that theory.

Indian soldier Chandu Babulal Chohan, who was earlier reported captured from the Line of Control (LoC) on September 29, 2016, will be returned to India, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.

A press release from the ISPR said the soldier "has been convinced to return to his own country."

According to the press release, Chohan was stationed in Indian-held Kashmir. He deserted his post "due to his grievances of maltreatment against his commanders".

The soldier had "wilfully crossed the LoC on September 29, 2016 and surrendered himself to the Pakistan Army," the press release said.

The soldier will be "handed over to Indian authorities at Wahga border on humanitarian grounds," the press release said.

As confusion ensued after the soldier's 'arrest', Pakistan's Ambassador to the United Nations Dr Maleeha Lodhi, while talking to Al Jazeera, had confirmed that Pakistan Army had "captured an Indian soldier who was trying to enter” into Pakistani territory.

Lodhi, however, denied that there was any surgical strike inside the territory of Pakistan, as claimed by the Indian forces.

An Indian army official based in New Delhi had said, “It is confirmed one soldier from 37 Rashtriya Rifles with weapons has inadvertently crossed over to the Pakistan side of the Line of Control”.

Avoiding connecting the capture to the Sep 29 firing incident, he said such incidents of people including civilians crossing the frontier by mistake have happened in the past from both sides.

The officer built a case in favour of India, he added that those who strayed are returned.

“Pakistan has been informed [of the soldier's crossing] through the DGMO on hotline,” ANI News had quoted Indian Army sources at the time.
