The accident took place when the aircraft was taking off for a combat training mission at an airbase.

The Air Force lost Group Captain A Gupta in the accident.
Mig 21 are needed to be grounded asap. It had already taken taken so many lifes.

RIP
It’s sad that the quality of our enemies forces us to keep such antiques in active service.
Similar arrogant behavior of Indians was before Feb 27 as well. Looks like Indians are not willing to learn. Good for Pakistan to have such a delusional enemy.

It’s high time this aircraft is buried under ground.

Sad..!
India has had significantly less money to throw around after the five year super boom period between 2003-2007 came to an end in 2008 economic crash..(those five years changed the image of India significantly thought not fully..may be around 20%) Since then India has been limping on..with everything brought to a halt in 2020 ..I have a feeling the drive for complete self made internet ecosystem may turbocharge growth once again...It's imperative we break into middle income territory by the end of the decade ($5,000 GDP per capita nominal)---------->around where Iran is today

That would be inaccurate, your defense budgets in the last few years are the highest they have ever been and as well as your capital expenditure I think.

You cannot afford to replace 6 squadrons overnight, and Tejas took too long, these are the consequences.

Now to the point that the PAF has, on average, a much younger fleet of fighters then India.

In the next 5 years you will see more Jaguar and MIG-21 crashes. Simply because these are very old airframes.

Unsure if HAL is conducting deep overhauls on them or not?

A very senior aviator went down with that junk, how a Group Captain allowed to fly that vintage aircraft? Strange, surely its IAF.

In IAF more experienced pilots are sometimes given the 2nd tier planes to ensure that pilot makes up for the deficiencies of the plane. Just like Abhi was given mig 21.

On topic: That is terrible loss of life and condolences to the family and loved ones. RIP

I remember when Nouman Akram attained shahadat , Indian were celebrating his death and now we are show sympathy to the Indians over his death .Difference between the India and Pakistani mentality 🇵🇰

Perhaps you are right but if a Squadron leader or to some extent Wing commander flies that Mig-21, it still be acceptable but a group captain? and most of the time Group Captain rarely fly combat mission or training missions as they are mostly on desk jobs after quiting flying in majority of cases.
