India taken off the list of polio endemic countries by WHO

Recently I read about news of 2 new Polio cases in China's Xinjiang, disease coming from Pakistan. And India is too careful, all children coming to India from Pakistan are given polio vaccine at border posts at Wagah and Munabao.
that's not enough unless you put them in Quarantine for 10 day and also the problem is that it's not necessarily that only children can transmit it this disease is transferred from Oral-Fecal route so if an adult didn't received Oral Polio Vaccine when he was child ha can be a carry it without showing any disease sign or only have a mild fever and then he can transmit it to the children who are not vaccinated

I think our government is taking care for that because it was a painstaking task and the rumors of polio vaccine causing impotence almost made it failed.
How Iran is tackling it because you guys have lots of refugees from Afghanistan.

glad to know India manged to bring this endemic under control. Big  to UNICEF, WHO & most of all those local volunteers for spreading the awareness & working tirelessly on the ground.. like the one here!!

well even after 10 years of being Polio free we still continue the vaccination for it and till 6th year of live every child 6 time recieve the vacination for it
1- after the birth
2- at two month
3- at four month
4- at six month
5- at 18 month
6- at six year

you know we had bad experience with polio in 1999 we had 4 case
of polio that 3 of them were imported from Afghanistan and the
other one was in contact with them so we decided to continue the
vaccination and surveillance for the disease even till today right now
if a doctor visit a child with acute flaccid paralysis in Iran before he
do anything else he must phone to the Health network by phone so
they can deal with it as soon as possible. and they themselves will
decide its Polio or something else.

India have the same situation as Iran If you want to remain Polio
free you also must not think it's finished a wrong step and you
see several years of hard work is ruined.

our borders with pakistan are sealed but question is of bangladesh and nepal.

What you said ,is actualy an universal practice recommended by WHO to eradicate polio and India would follow the same pattern for years to come, probably more or atleast our neighbour reach the same status. The idea is to eradicate the wild variety of virus with the attenuated virus completely from the ecosystem..good news, nevertheless but still too early to celebrate imho..

BANGLADESH IS FREE FROM POLIO. LAST FIVE YEARS NO POLIO PATIENT.. INDIA IS A POLIO THREAT TO US ..
