I think this is a waterfall effect. The two ruling parties had to compete with each other with economic stimulus which helped in neglecting the core human issues.
When this was still East Pakistan, these people were known to be at the forefront of all educational and business fields. They were developing bit by bit taking the whole population with them. That meant that the growth rate of the elite and the common man was equal but greed finally took over in 1971.
They created a separate land based on racial superiority and the nation got confused between socialism vs communism and thus the opportunist elite just steam rolled ahead.
I guess its always been economic growth vs moral values but you can forget about morality from people who defect from REALITY(Pakistan).

Many members here of all nationalities need to understand that this forum is not a warzone where you fire back at your opponents as a defensive or offensive measure. I have come to realise that Bangladeshi, Pakistani and Indian members on this forum have some kind of tripartite hatred and animosity towards each other and I remain uncertain whether you get some kind of forum points for spewing vile and venom on each other. However mocking the plight of young girls who are victims of human trafficking and forced into prostitution is simply disgusting and I hope as a person who had some of my forefathers roaming your lands many hundreds of years ago that this isn't your cultural characteristics. Also, in my SAfrican and in my Islamic culture it is taboo to insult or talk about an older woman in a sexually demeaning way. Some comments leveled against that old lady who I believe is the President of Bangladesh are simply sick. Finally, to the Indian member who suggested that child prostitution is legal in India, if that is true then your country is sick and disgusting and I am shocked that the UN hasn't taken action against you.

I understand what you are saying but when you have filth like India as your neighbors. Or those Afghans. It becomes very difficult to be humble towards them. People are fed up of these nations. They daily hear Indians killings kashmiris or shelling Pakistani civilians at LOC and Afghans sending suicide bombers in Pakistan and that makes them hostile to these nations and as a result people start to enjoy misery of these nations no matter how inhumane they are. Same is the case with BD. I have nothing against them. WE don't even have a border with them. But they way their government peddled hate against Pakistan. Hanged people for their loyalty towards Pakistan. It has only made increase in hostility for BD.

That's increase in hatred towards BD. In the past people used to consider BD as a brotherly nation. Karachi still hosts millions of Bengali origin people. You might need to do some introspection then. In recent months however many Bangladeshi members have been going around trolling other countries or taking low shots at them because of the recent good fortunes of their country, pissing off everyone else in the process. Change of attitude? Okay. The Pakistanis here are making fun of women who were unknowingly trafficked with fake promises and forced into prostitution while there are numerous cases where Pakistani men are selling their own daughters and sisters knowingly to brothels in the Middle East. That's quite a self-humiliation I'd say.
