G20 Kashmir Meeting: Modi's PR Ploy Backfires!

All countries recognize Indian occupation of Kashmir. No country in the world recognizes Kashmir as an territory.

The dispute is one of a kind involving a UNSC permanent member.

That’s a good spin right there. Let me also try that.

Most countries recognize Kashmir as Indian territory. Few countries recognize it as occupied territory.

UN resolution says otherwise despite tourists requiring Indian visa to visit her occupied territories.

UN says a lot of things.
Looks like majority have already stopped taking them seriously, 17 countries’ presence in Kashmir shows exactly that.

The trilateral issue has UNSC permanent member China as party. No amount of all expense paid vacation for internees can change the realities of Kashmir.

Most of the 17 countries have some form of territorial dispute of their own which they won't like the proposed Indian solution for.

Still that permanent member (and the UN resolution) couldn’t stop those 17 countries to visit a place it considers disputed. I say it’s a job well done.

All they can do is offer advisory. They cannot stop private organisations for conducting tourism in said territories.

They can offer as many advisories as they want. As long as majority countries are coming to Kashmir for attending G20 meet in India, we are good.

No you are not good

We are quite good. In fact, totally satisfied with 17 countries supporting our stance. We have never been this good in the past.

There more than 200 countries in the world. G17 sounds like an isolation group from UN conventions

It's the fucking G-20, not your average trade meet.
In fact it was akin to a trade meet only. As part of G20, India has been organising events in various cities. These events are attended by representatives of appropriate level.

The one organised in Srinagar was in that series of events. It was “ G20 tourism working group meeting”.
Nobody missed Egypt, Saudi and China. Negative coverage by a section of international media was also expected.

Assuming that, Amit Shah didn’t foresee these, is naive.

If Paksiatn really expects any radical change in the situation, then it has to have the will to make a bold move. A move to surprise India and go on a back foot. Is it likely?

Already addressed. Read the thread before coming in late yo comment.

you would have probably had world leaders attend.
You were expecting tourism meet to be attended by world leaders? The Srinagar event was not the summit. Summit is planned in Sep this year.

Events organised in May and planned for Jun. You expect heads of states to attend all these? Heads of states have nothing else to do but to go around attending all these?

People going ecstatic for few countries not attending Srinagar event haven’t even understood, what that event was all about.

Except it's not, read the UNSC resolutions on Kashmir.

Maybe go back and learn to read before making smart *** and false comments.
pretty simple sentence... nothing smart or false about it.

I am no reimagining it. India through her unilateral actions of demographically changing the disputed territory is inviting such imagination.

The Indian challenge to One China policy is further alienating any peaceful resolution for Kashmir. A far cry from tourism aspired tax haven.
