I dont know how many of us are aware of the ECHELON network of electronic espionage run by USA, UK, Australia and New Zealand.
It was more considered to be a rumor till Australia confirmed it to the BBC. Even European Union has concerns about it.
Echelon's capabilities are secret but it more seems to be related to Signals Intelligence and Information Technology Manipulation. Its field of concern seems to be phone calls, faxes, emails, radio transmissions etc.
