Rawalpindi - October 8, 2010:

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Khalid Shameem Wynne assumed the charge of his office today.

A simple but impressive ceremony was held at the Joint Staff Headquarters to formally welcome the newly appointed Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Khalid Shameem Wynne on assumption of the appointment.

On arrival at the Joint Staff Headquarters he was received by the Director General Joint Staff, Lieutenant General Sardar Mahmood Ali Khan. A smartly turned out contingent of the Three-Services presented the guard of honour to the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, who reviewed the parade.

Later, Director Generals of the Joint Staff Headquarters were introduced to the new Chairman. General Khalid Shameem holds vast experience of serving at various command and staff appointments.

CJCSC pays inaugural visit to Air Headquarters
October 13, 2010

ISLAMABAD (APP): Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Khalid Shameem Wynne on Wednesday called on Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force at Air Headquarters here.

They remained together for some time and discussed matters pertaining to professional interests.The Air Chief and CJCSC exchanged souvenirs at the end of the meeting.

H.E. Mr. Choi Choong Joo, Ambassador of Republic of Korea to Pakistan called on General Khalid Shameem Wynne, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) at Joint Staff Headquarters as a prelude to Chairman's upcoming visit to Korea in connection with an International Conference and discussed matters of mutual interest. Mr. Joo also offered condolences over loss of precious lives during recent floods in Pakistan.

General Wynne while congratulating Mr. Joo on his new assignment, conveyed best wishes for his successful tenure. He also thanked the Government and people of Korea for the assistance provided for the flood victims.

Delegation of UK Foreign Affairs Committee calls on CJCSC

RAWALPINDI, Oct 25(APP): United Kingdom Foreign Affairs Committee delegation led by H.E. Mr. Richard Ottaway MP (Chair), called on General Khalid Shamim Wynne, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) at Joint Staff Headquarters, Chaklala and discussed regional security situation especially developments in Afghanistan and other matters of mutual interest.

CJCSC calls on PM Gilani

ISLAMABAD, Oct 25 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that despite economic constraints, the government would not ignore the defense requirements of the country and every possible step would be taken to maintain the level of minimum credible deterrence.

He lauded the professional preparedness of the armed forces of Pakistan. The Prime Minister was talking to the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Khalid Shamim Wyne who called on him at PM’s House here this afternoon.

The CJCSC briefed the Prime Minister about his recent visit to South Korea and his participation in the Chiefs of Defense (CHoD) Conference. He apprised him of his meetings with the military leadership of the participating countries. He also informed about the professional matters relating to the three armed forces of Pakistan.

The Prime Minister also congratulated General Khalid Shamin Wyne on his selection for conferment of Sitara Imtiaz (military) as an acknowledgement of his meritorious services for Pakistan Army. Overall security situation of the country was also discussed during the meeting.

Chinese Ambassador calls on CJCSC

ISLAMABAD: Mr Liu Jain, Ambassador of China called on General Khalid Shameem Wynne, Chairman Joint Chief of Army Staff Committee (CJCSC) at Joint Staff Headquarters, Chaklala on Friday.

Liu Jain congratulated General Wynne on assumption of his appointment as CJCSC and discussed matters related to progress in bilateral relations, ongoing defence collaboration and recent regional and international security developments, said a press release issued by ISPR.
