CJCSC calls on PM Gilani

ISLAMABAD, August 2 (APP): Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Khalid Shamim Wyne called on Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani at PM’s House on Tuesday and discussed the security situation of the country.

He apprised the Prime Minister about the professional matters relating to the armed forces and their commitment to fight-out the scourge of extremism.

Rawalpindi - September 6, 2011:
Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Khalid Shameem Wynne hosted a reception to commemorate Defence Day of Pakistan, at Joint Staff Headquarters on Tuesday evening. President of Pakistan Mr. Asif Ali Zardari was the chief guest.
While addressing the audience President paid rich tribute to the Armed Forces and eulogized the sacrifices made both in the retrospection of 1965 war and the ongoing operations. He said that officers and soldiers of valiant Armed Forces have set unprecedented examples of heroism and resilience in their fight against terrorism, with the unabated support of the nation we will succeed in over coming all the challenges being faced by the country.
Distinguished among others who attended the reception included, Federal Ministers, Parliamentarians, services Chiefs, Ambassadors of various countries in Islamabad and other senior serving civil and military officers.

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Khalid Shameem Wynne visiting Oahu, Hawaii USA to attend Chief of Defence Staff Conference. The Chief of Defence Staff Conference is hosted by US Pacific Command. Apart from multilateral engagements on varied topics the conference provides an opportunity for bilateral consultations on multifaceted security issues. On the sidelines of the event Chairman held bilateral meetings with Admiral Willard Commander US Pacific Command, Chief of Defence Canada, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, New Zealand, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Vice Chief of Defence Australia. During an exhaustive three days session military leaders shared their views on multilateral and bilateral security issues.

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Khalid Shameem Wynne, who is on an official visit to Dubai today visited the Pakistan Pavilion at Dubai Air Show where equipment made at Pakistan aeronautical complex and JF-17 was show cased. Chairman witnessed the JF - 17 aerial display and appreciated the demonstrated skills of participants. Earlier Chairman met Lieutenant General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff UAE armed forces and exchanged views on matters of bilateral interest.

General Hou Shusen calls on CJCSC

RAWALPINDI, November 23 (APP): General Hou Shusen, Deputy Chief of the General Staff (DCGS), General Staff Headquarters, People’s Liberation Army (PLA) China called on General Khalid Shameem Wynne, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC).

General Hou Shusen, remained with Chairman for some time and discussed matters related to mutual cooperation between the two Armed Forces.

The CJCSC expressed his satisfaction over the ongoing defence related projects between the two countries specially in the field of Joint productions, training and exchange programmes.

In the early part of the day General Khalid Shameem Wynne presided the senate committee of National Defence University and reviewed the academic regimen along with the benchmarks set for the coming sessions.

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Khalid Shameem Wynne has said that "National Security is no longer a pursuit of the Military alone nor is its management the exclusive domain of a selected few.

The effective pursuit of national security requires developing a strategic framework which encompasses all elements of National power, Tangible as well as intangible ". He made these remarks while addressing the certificate award ceremony to the participants of thirteenth National Security Workshop at National Defence University (NDU), Islamabad.

While addressing the Participants, General Wynne highlighted that by bringing people from diverse backgrounds, experiences and outlooks together and enabling them to reflect on issues from a national standpoint National Defence University has provided a fillip to the process of national integration and nation building.

Congratulating the participants, General Wynne expressed hope that the enhanced knowledge and awareness on National Security would make them an asset for good governance and judicious decision making.

Paying tribute to the institution, CJCSC stated that NDU has emerged as a premier seat of learning for Armed Forces officers and civil bureaucracy of Pakistan.

Earlier, on arrival at NDU, CJCSC was received by Lieutenant General Agha Muhammad Umer Farooq, President NDU.

Pakistan Chairman Joint Chief of Staff to visit Lanka



General Khalid Shameem Wynne, NI (M), Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee Pakistan is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka from March 18-22, 2012 on the invitation of Sri Lankan Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal WDRMJ Goonetileke.General Khalid Shameem Wynne, NI (M) was commissioned in April 1972 in an infantry battalion. On October 8, 2010 he was promoted to the rank of General and assumed the present office. He is a graduate of the Armed Forces War College Islamabad and holds a Masters Degree in War Studies and International Relations.

During his stay in Sri Lanka, General Khalid Shameem Wynne will meet President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Secretary Defence, Chief of Defence Staff and the Commanders of all the three services.

He is expected to visit the Northern and Eastern Province including Kilinochchi and Trincomalee during his four-day stay.

On March 21, 2012, General Wynne will be the chief guest at the launch of the Pakistan NDU Alumni Chapter in Sri Lanka, a platform for Sri Lankan Officers of all three segments of the Armed Forces who attended training courses at Pakistan’s National Defence University (NDU) Islamabad.

His visit comes at a time when relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be further strengthened.

Rawalpindi - November 27, 2012:

General Khalid Shameem Wynne, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) met the members of Pakistan Tri Service cricket team who have recently won International Defence Cricket Challenge-2012 which was held at Australia. Chairman appreciated the performance of Pakistani team and congratulated the members for securing their place in World Defence Eleven. A total of 8 teams from five Countries participated. Pakistan team won all the seven league matches before winning the finals.

Colonel Asif, Secretary Sports Board, Joint Staff Headquarters introduced the players to the Chairman.
