learning very nice...Hal Marut is also proved learning process along with few other things...
Indian Aircraft industry was much smaller at that time.
By the way, Marut was also much behind at that time. Tejas can at least survive against modern fighters and obviously, it's successors will be much better.
Now, leave that alone and tell me what pakistan is learning or making and pleasedon't shove up joint ventures(specially with China) here.

For Indians on PDF, negative ratings represent our capability man. We get a negative rating for bursting each bubble of you guys. :D

just like this one..LOL ..yeah right...,happy wet dreaming to you guys then..

We have very good experience at least have courage to accept we developed good 4th Gen fighter jet with Chinese. PAC have good long experience of overhauling & maintaining the different aircrafts now we have experience of manufacturing fighter jet...no other nation except USA & Russia developing Jets alone even it is not cost effective (save China for fifth Gen fighters)...In future also we should go for J.V...just think if India instead of trying to develop jet alone and failed go for J.V the situation would be much better...even Tejas is not fully home grown, more then 70% parts imported...

I said I was not counting Marut for a specific reason. The world of aviation and aeronautical engineering went through a sea change after WW II. Turbo-fan replaced turbo-prop, hydraulic-mechanical controls were replaced by fly-by-wire avionics, aluminium body replaced by alloys and carbon-composit materials. On-board radars aid in target-seeking, on-board oxygen generator enable pilot to be air-borne for a long time etc. In short every country including US had to go back to drawing board forgetting what they had/ achieved in the past.

even Tejas is not fully home grown, more then 70% parts imported...
You see prototyping and first iteration is always made out of imported components. Only after validation and user-trials, the components & sub-systems inventory is finalised and mass-produced locally. Pakistan doesn't have a viable component/ ancillary industry for JF-17. Nor it is viable to manufacture this obsolete aircraft from grounds up. Pak should have tried to build capacity, bit by bit, like India over decades instead of jumpstarting with the help of China. China itself has not absorbed many high-end aircraft tech and depends upon Russia.

NEW DELHI: Even as controversy has erupted on the transfer of eight F 16s to Pakistan by the US, Delhi has been considering a proposal to manufacture thefighter jetsunder the 'Make in India' initiative.
Wasn't the proposal to 'manufacture the F-16 in India' already on the table when India was negotiating the MMRCA contract with difference companies?

So what's new here, other than Indian Bollywood masala-tamasha news trying to tie existing proposals and offers to the latest F-16 sale to Pakistan?

They are going to make everything in India to stop it from going to Pakistan and will eventually bankrupt..good opportunity for western capitalists to enjoy the loot sale while it lasts..they can make F16 to India and start selling F18 to Pakistan.

F16IN will make us have a fake impression of a fake well built healthy body.. It failed MMRCA contest... that should be enought to throw 16/18s both out..

Indian specifications are like bollywood movies..they want every gadget in the world crammed into a fighter..and the price tag is "indian"...cant be done..some of the top air-forces use F16 in most daring roles like the Israeli attack on Iraq and Syria to destroy nuke facilities but some how it does not fit the Indian specifications...haha!

Tejas is just a tech demostrator or a proof of concept..it does not even have a life cycle defined..unlike JF17 which is now entering its third planned MLU package. You need to have something flying first...then improve on it..India went typical bollywood style trying to cram everything on the drawing board..a more reasonable proposal would be ..to get something flying first..the improve the air frame. avionics, radar and finally the composites for weight reduction and reduced RCS...funny when the weight reduced composite plane as the same RCS and weight as the JF17 and performs lower...

It is not fair to compare JF 17 with LCA because JF17 is a mass production platform with a defined life cycle..where as per last news about LCA...IAF requested further enlargement of fuselage! And the product has not even entered its trial mass production...

We are already discussing that in the Rafale thread. After MMRCA was canceled, MoD got into a GTG deal with Dassault to manufacture 200+ Rafales in India.

The F-16, SH, EFT and Gripen are fighting for a second MMRCA contract that will begin after the Rafale deal for manufacturing in India is complete.

Wrong thread

This news deserves to be in ........... "stupid and funny section".

if it takes you 15 years to negotiate the deal for fill very urgent requirement of fighter jets, we can chill for a minimum of 30 years for you to negotiate F-16 manufacture, btw by the time you start making them in india, we would be celebrating 20th year of F-16 retirement from service with PAF.

ON different notes, what would be Pakistan;s response in case F-16 are going to be manufactured in Indian?

well thats what i used to think but when u have a low lifer tea seller as yr leader expect surprising moves out of desperation.
You'd be surprised how little control Modi actually has over military planning and acquisitions. His only real role is to accept or deny proposals based upon suggestions from his military advisers, much like Obama.

:omghaha::omghaha:

If 8 jets can do this to India, what will an order of 24 jets do?

yeah i can guess the reasons for that since its the doval who holds the foreign policy these days, but those reasons would be same, Modi is just too unfit to handle all aspects of a statehood. He would be more of a puppet and easy to control y their military establishment.

Tejas is not fully home grown, more then 70% parts imported...
It's 35% man.
I know about the news, TOI simply wrote it 70% instead of 35% just for bashing. There were bursts of laugh on Indian Forum.
I've sent an email to publisher to know about this mistake and expect you to don't believe this $hit.
You yourself know about the capabilities of India. We are not any global player but we are also not such pathetic idiots who gonaa import 70% of homegrown aircraft.

Anyway, can you tell (solely and humbly) what you guys designed and developed in JF17(excluding license built parts or transfer of technology).

just like this one..LOL ..yeah right...,happy wet dreaming to you guys then..
And you guys get nightmare whenever these dreams come true.
Obviously, I guess I don't need to give you guys example. :azn:

Going by that logic first flight of F-22 was in 1997, damn Tejas must be held back for another 20 years since it's so ahead of it's time.
@ topic, as i said earlier, had the Americans agreed to the Indian demands ,,,, the MMRCA deal would have long been concluded on the F-16.....but the fan boys think, it never met IAF specifications......far from it. .... one day you may know the real story. ;)
if u r implying that f-16 is better then rafele, you are either blinded by nationalism or dont know much about aviation.
