Will this destroy are diversifying manufacturing base? Or the increase in backward linkages boost bdesh?

Most of the Pacific Asian nations are developed and have a larger industrial complex than bdesh. Bdesh is not even on the same level. Its right at the bottom of the stair case whilst the others are at the top at the landing.

Pls give me your detailed thoughts.

Not at all.

BD is very competitive in the industries that it has like garments, electronics, pharma, IT and shipbuilding.

It does not care about things like automobiles anyway and will make sure that these do not flood into BD with prohibitive VAT on them.

In fact other countries like India are somewhat nervous about signing FTA with BD as they know they will have a hard time competing with BD in these sectors.

Bring it on, as BD is a country that loves free-trade with anyone. :sniper:

India is a over flowing toilet with back pressure the stuff you see in horror movies.

Bdeshs IT industry is very nascent, it can't compete with with countries like Vietnam or Thailand defo no Taiwan.

Every industry that bdesh has is over shadowed by these Recep countries except for bdeshs garment industry, which bdesh is very good at.

You name it light engineering, electronics, home appliances, heavy industry. Light industry, apart from a few exceptional companies bdesh can't simply compete.

The only industry that will turn into gold mine for bdesh overnight, is its pharma industry as it enjoys ldc status privilege in regards to patents. That will end shortly.

The only advantage I see is bdesh will have more sources for backwards linkages which may boost its industries. This is means being over reliant, this world heading into a multi polar world mean those who are the self reliant comes out above and beyond.

BD already competes with Samsung and LG in the electronics market in BD and beats them.
Both Korean companies have set up factories in BD already.

As for pharma, BD is moving up the ladder with the setting up of API Park. By 2026 it’s pharma industry will be more developed and mature than it is now.

Please do not worry as there are good reasons why BD is actively chasing FDI with everyone.

PS - Are you aware that neither Thailand or Vietnam even have an electronics industry? They are just a base of foreign MNCs and BD companies already beat the likes of Samsung and LG in the BD market.
BD IT industry will be just fine competing with even India as it is very competitive in the areas it specialises in.

This Indian national @UKBengali does not want BD to join the RCEP and wants It to become a tail of India.

RCEP is our getaway from the Indian influence. And this is why @UKBengali does not cherish BD inclusion in that organization.

RCEP is an opportunity for BD to get involved in the regional economic activities.

After Bangladesh joined RCEP, many labor-intensive enterprises will go to Bangladesh.

Bangladesh's accession to RCEP refers to joining the industrial chain of RCEP member countries, rather than let Bangladesh to compete with these member countries.

There are enough markets in this world. As long as you keep improving yourself, you will always get more.
