India had jains and budhists once but the religions disappeared as Hinduism gained hold.
Correction: Jainism and Buddhism branched from Hinduism. Back then it was called Sanatana dharma(Hinduism finds its origin in the word Sindhu, the mountain ranges in the west).
Which religion do you think Gautam Buddha was born into??? A little cogitation will give you the answer. It so happened that once upon a time Jainism and Buddhidm had become very popular in northern India, it took a Shankara Acharya to establish the sanatana dharma back to its full glory. Every religion goes through highs and lows, so did Hinduism.

Indus Basin is the area adjacent to Indus River. This area is central to Pakistan like River Nile is to Egypt. Like most things in life things don't fit into boxes. The IVC and it is called that because "I" stands for Indus spilled into neighbouring areas.

Think it this way. What are the regions in India that spill over from Pakistan? Well you got Indian Punjab is is just extention of Pakistani Punjab. Then you have adjacent Gujrat. Then it also pilled over into Afghanistan also.
adjacent ? we are one of the main Province of IVC (after punjab and sindh)
loo at this map

Ancient Egyptian civilization had spread deep into Sudan however that does not change the fact that the mainstay was in Eygpt. Therefore IVC is in Pakistan with some spillover into adjacent areas like Afghanistan and India.

BTW which states are adjacent to Pakistan in India?

nobody is denying that IVC is a Pakistani Civilization and gujarat was 3rd largest and 2nd important province of IVC.

Here look at the geography as it speaks better than words. Follow the mighty Indus River in Pakistan the home of IVC.

It is Indus Basin in Pakistan is even visible from space. Do you see that green strip with deserts on both sides running all the way south into Arabian Sea ? Most of it is Khyber Pakhtun, Punjab and Sindh in Pakistan.
we gujaratis and western rajasthais dont have any main stream river our states are mostly desert and semi arid just like sindh.

i am only speaking for Saurastra and Kutch. eastern gujaratis are mostly related to people of MP and Maharastra we speak same language but we are different people.

Indus Basin - Pakistan is actually mostly desert. It is the Indus River that brings glaciel meltwater from the Tibetan plateaux in China that sustains Pakistan. Without it the vast irrigation that sustains the irrigation system in Pakistan would not be possible. Pakistan would turn to desert again. Modern Pakistan is gift of Indus River like River Indus was a gift to our forefathers in Harappa and Mohenjo Daro who could not have survived without her water like River Nile is to Egypt.

just like you guys, we dont have any other Civilization or Empire of our own, we are mostly desert people with 0 to minimum Rainfall, we are mainly related to North West Asians.

A 2004 Stanford study conducted with a wide sampling from India, found that over 33% of genetic markers in west Gujarat were partially of West Eurasian origin, the second highest amongst the sampled group of South Asians with Punjabis at 42%, and Kashmiris at 30%.[22]

mtDNA Haplogroup U7 is found in Iran, the rest of the Near East,[22] the Caucasus,[23] Afghanistan, India, and Pakistan; with extremely low frequencies in neighboring countries Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Iraq. Its frequency peaks at over 12% in Gujarat, 9% inIran, 9% in Punjab, 6% in Pakistan and 6% in Afghanistan. Elsewhere in India, its frequency is very low (0.00% to 0.90%).[22] Outside of the Near East, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the Northwestern Indian states, Haplogroup U7 is non-existent.

you are just downgrading our role in IVC. we are (Saurastra and kutchh) also hair of IVC just like you Pakistanis. :)
