Contraceptives and Misconceptions These are serious issues facing the U.S. today that require the rethinking of our methods. In many situations, we may let our emotions interfere with our interpretations of the facts. When a question of morals is involved, we often focus on what we want and not on what we've got. One of the most complicated and emotional issues today is the view of Pakistanis according to many U.S. citizens. With a limited scope of facts and information coming from bias news outlets, many in the US tend to believe exaggerated facts regarding Pakistan, which as times only attract more views rather than accurate deceptions.

The women are subservient to men.
The Pakistani women are essentially as educated as the men. Culturally in certain remote parts of Pakistan, the women may not receive the same respect or rights as men. However, this is not true for the country in general. Moreover, Islam gives equal right to men and women. Majority of the Pakistani women are educated, and have equal rights in the house holds. A small minority of people (which are in every community) should not define a generalized view of all. There are significant proportion of women in the Pakistani political system. Moreover, Pakistan has had a female head of state not once, but twice.

All Pakistanis are cabdrivers.

Two-thirds of American Muslims have bachelors or higher versus 44% for U.S. average. 33% have masters or higher versus 9% for U.S. average. Within the American Muslims, the Pakistani American community is the most organized, and educated with higher average income than Americans and even American Muslims. The Pakistani Americans are well represented in all different walks of life.

Pakistanis weigh the economy down.

It is the hard work of these communities which as contributed to the American dream.
