Afghanistan will not tolerate 'invasions,' says defence minister

Lol
Not sure what you trying to say.
They don’t fight for money but if some do then its a problem they fight for money?

Do you even know how the Taliban work instead of talking about ideological differences? How militia’s work?

If Taliban don’t fight for money how do they feed their women and children? Does it come from the sky?
Afghan Taliban fighters don't fight for money, if they would then who could have given them more money than US?

First, IEA & TTP are the same. The latter is a Pakistani extension of their Afghan counterpart. TTP's primary demand is handing over of FATA to them. IEA doesn't event accept the Pak-Afghan border, and considers entirety of KPK their territory. They are full of hubris at the moment and they do not want peace. These ceasefires are just time buying measures. In reality, they are playing good cop, bad cop game with you.

Second, we are already at war. Our people have been dying since last August. We have shown a lot of restraint.

Third, Afghan Taliban are no match for our armed forces in a conventional war. Their conventional force would be routed just like TTP was when it was occupying Pak territory. The destruction will be on their end. The only thing they are good at is guerilla warfare (hit & run, suicide bombings etc). You can't capture/hold territory with this kind of warfare. Furthermore, this won't be as effective if we tighten border control, and don't do a ground invasion (not on the cards).

The goal of any escalation will be to do so much damage that they are forced to the negotiating table for a reasonable settlement. What is that settlement? "You don't attack our territory, and we won't attack your territory".
No, they are not same, you seriously lack knowledge about them.

I'm not proficient in these conflicts.

What are the objectives of TTP? Why do they carry out attacks?
TTP is an alliance of around 12 militant groups around the Pak/Afghan border region. They all follow one ideology and are very similar to the Afghan Taliban despite people trying their best to deny it. It was TTP groups who gave safe heavens and support to Afghan Taliban during the war with Usa, at times they fight with each other or TTP groups fight amongst themselves but then end up signing peace deals and they're one again.

They don't like Pakistan army and government because Pakistan sent army to the tribal areas, helped drone attacks, they don't want the border between Pak and Afghan, don't accept the border or the wall, with the Pak army at the borders, it is a threat to the TTP power. They also like to have free movement from Afghan to Pakistan because they have relatives on each side, drug smuggling and the rest, it must be millions of dollars business.

When General Musharaff sent 100,000 troops to the border, he was condemned by many Islamic political parties of Pakistan, till today they sit in the parliament but oppose the army in the tribal areas.

Pakistan had a good chance to deal with these people but as usual those in power like to play dirty politics and end up on the loosing side. We had many anti TTP tribal elders, lashkars and one Militia group. The army should have fully backed them but ended up withdrawing their support and TTP slaughtered them when they overtook Malakhand/Swat. Pakistan could have trained them to deal with these people as they had a different ideology. Today TTP is very strong with the Taliban in power in Afghanistan.

So we expect taliban to control TTP, ISIS, BLA, BNA, BRA and alqaeda all by itself after 2 decades of war with US and NATO??? And on the other hand our lumber 1 after spending billions cant seal the border. Yeah its easy to put it on others.
The reality is, our military is increasing tensions to create excuses for american bases. We now know their modus operandi too well.

Very well explained, thank you.

What is the solution to this problem? What do you suggest?

Pakistan must solve the issue by strong diplomacy, which we seem to be lacking. We should put the following points in front of Afghan Taliban.
1) Taliban had promised that their land will not be used against anyone and TTP is using their land to attack Pakistan, will Taliban not fulfill their promis?
2) TTP has nothing to do with Taliban movement which Afghan Taliban also have accepted, infact TTP is like Daesh, they are extremists who kill people as Daesh does. Do Taliban tolerate Daesh? Or relocate them to other areas? Thus Taliban should deal with TTP same way as they deal with Daesh.
3) How would Taliban react if any of their neighbouring country is been used by Daesh or another group to attack Afghanistan?
4) TTP for Pakistan is same as Daesh for Taliban, will Taliban accept any such demand from Daesh as TTP is putting infront of Pakistan?
5) Pakistan should put forward the list of attacks done by TTP over the years in Pakistan and show Taliban leadership the real face of TTP.
6) Pakistan should also tell Taliban how most of the TTP after fleeing Pakistan joined Daesh and fought against Afghan Taliban.
7) Pakistan should also give details of all the attacks done by TTP using Afghan soil after the coming of Taliban government to the Taliban Leadership.
A brief on your pointers
1) Yup, they backtracked on the Doha Agreement which covers Pak as well
2) TTP gave baith (pledge of alliance) to IEA leader, if they had nothing to do with TTP they could have ejected it

they are the same TTP and Taliban

So they're staging TTP attacks on our border on purpose?
If Talib can't control border and TTP is attacking, killing our men and than retreating inland

Attacking them in Thier hideouts makes Pak army devil?

seriously islamists and ethno nats are the reason we'll go back late 2000s all over again and rest of the country is genuinely tired of these games

Really don't want that shit again, sorry tough actions are needed

His analysis of PPP contribution is a revelation.
PA knew that ANA would not stand, even Doval accepted that. So, Orya is wrong here.
Lastly, Pak must respond to IEA letter.

Orya is an extreme romantic. He always plays loosey-goosey with history/facts as is the habit in the subcontinent. I never take him seriously on defense & strategic issues.

They are not same, it does not matter if TTP gives pledge to IEA or not, Zabiullah Mujahid IEA spokesperson has clearly said that TTP is a different group with their own aims and agendas that have nothing to do with IEA.
Few Months ago TTP blamed Pakistan and IEA of collaborating(double game) and asked US for help.

KABUL: Afghanistan's acting defence minister said on Sunday that the Taliban administration would not tolerate "invasions" from its neighbours after protesting against airstrikes it says were conducted by neighbouring Pakistan.

The comments come after the Taliban administration blamed Pakistan for airstrikes that officials say killed dozens in Kunar and Khost provinces.

Pakistan, which has not confirmed any involvement in airstrikes inside Afghanistan's borders, said the two countries are "brotherly countries".

"We are facing problems and challenges from both the world and our neighbours, the clear example is invasion by them in our territory in Kunar," said Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob, acting Afghan defence minister, at a ceremony in Kabul commemorating the anniversary of the death of his father, Taliban founder Mullah Mohammad Omar.

"We can't tolerate the invasion. We have tolerated that attack. We tolerated that because of national interests, next time we might not tolerate it," he said.

Pakistan's foreign office spokesperson said when asked for comment on Yaqoob's comments that Pakistan hoped for long-term engagement with Afghanistan to secure peace.

"Pakistan and Afghanistan are brotherly countries. The governments and people of both countries regard terrorism as a serious threat and have suffered from this scourge for long time ... therefore, it is important that our two countries engage in a meaningful manner through relevant institutional channels to cooperate in countering cross-border terrorism and taking actions against terrorist groups on their soil," the spokesperson said.

The Taliban administration's foreign ministry last week called in Pakistan's ambassador to protest against the strikes. Local officials said the alleged strikes by Pakistan killed 36 people.

The United Nation's children's agency head in Afghanistan said that 20 children were killed in airstrikes in Khost and Kunar on April 16.

Since the Taliban took over Afghanistan in August, there have been numerous standoffs along the 2,600-km (1,615-mile) border with Pakistan.

Increasingly frustrated by continuing militant attacks, Pakistan's military has stepped up operations along the Afghan border in recent months.

Yes.. you and what air force ?

Please go back to your caves

Explain to me again why Pakistan keeps asking Western countries to help Afghanistan? We have enough problems of our own to fix first.

This is one of the things where I STRONGLY disagreed with Imran Khan. He kept attacking the US for withholding Afghanistan money. He kept telling IEA they should have an inclusive government, even promoting the dog Karzai to be included, and the IEA gave him a well-deserved shut up call.

I never understood his obsession with helping the ungrateful IEA instead of focusing on Pakistan.

Broadly speaking IK was the correct … even though I my self felt it was too apologetic to afghans

Look the basic problem is afghans in general are assholes. I really mean that.

If they cannot understand after all we have done for them, lobbied for them etc and if Pakistan did a air strike more accurately a drone strike than there was a good reason for it .

Pakistan doesn’t use military power unless it utterly has to.
