1) FA-50 Multi-Role Combat Aircraft Upgrade
KAI is currently upgrading the FA-50 platform to make it more competitive in Advanced Trainer / Light Fighter market.
Based on identified customer needs, KAI is increasing FA-50’s range, armament options, and mission profile. New AAM, AGM, and GBU-12 are among those confirmed for integration. Additional features such as Large Area Display (LAD), HMD, on-board training simulation, and Sniper ATP are being introduced to improve FA-50’s capability. Enlarged internal fuel tank, 300gal external fuel tank, and Cobham’s aerial refueling system (probe) will help increase range of the FA-50.

2) Black Kite (Sorigae) Next-Gen Basic Trainer
There are two variants being developed by KAI with goal of surpassing AT-6 and EMB-314 in performance. A 1600hp single engine variant and electric-powered four engine variants are being studied.
The Black Kite will feature innate air-to-ground and air-to-air capability for use as COIN/light attack aircraft. Glass cockpit and AR/VR technology will be integrated with the aircraft with goal of training pilots for advanced platforms (KF-21 & F-35) in mind.

KUH-1 Upgrade
New digital Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS) and power train are being introduced to KUH-1 series of helicopters.
Newly upgraded mission computer features Integrated Digital Map Computer (IDMC) and four Multi Function Display (MFD) screens which were enlarged from 10.4 to 12.7 inches. New touch-screen interface will be introduced as well.
Internal fuel tank sourced from F5 fighters will be installed to increase the range of these helicopters.
