Featured 60 Aircraft To Participate in 'Shaheen X' Exercise Being Held in China

Really? … so the first post in the thread was wrong? :undecided:
Can’t judge that but there’s been no resource allocation made towards the ex so far. So I highly doubt it’s happening this year.

60 aircrafts are a very significant number. Such numbers are seen in the Red flag or other major multinational excersises.

PAF needs to order 60 J10CE minimum. What good are all these interoperability excersises if we dont operate any of the modern PLAAF jets today? There is a significant windown of opportunity that pakistan-China can exploit via Gangedesh within the next few years.
Pakistani purchase of j10 will be the end of any prospective sale of j17 thunder. It’s a less manoeuvreable medium weight fighter in the category of f16 .It will require totally new infrastructure, training and maintenance,a costly requirement .Will also require a long time for our pilots to be become masters of this machine like f16. Pakistan must try to get more f16 to save money and time, till we have our own medium/heavy weight machine Of future requirements.

Another idiot speaks. The canard vortex design allow high maneuverability even in high speed, high attitude. Another foreign overseas white worshipping trash who think anything made by the western white are the best.

You think the top brass of PAF are idiot who didn't do their study extensive of the J-10C product before inducting it?

This purchase has more to do with political pressure and lack of funds.China has failed to sell a single j-10 to any country in the world. With the exception of range ,jf17 mkiii can perform multiple task like j-10.Pakistan being highly tech credible customer will enhance the chances of the sale Of j-10.

Young man! you must learn how to address the person unknown to you. I could easily be the age of your grandfather. Learn to address respectfully.

It’s not the matter of being pro American or f16.The economic situation of the country is such, that pakistan cannot afford to buy new weapon ,wait years for the delivery and then train the pilots Etc. Pakistan,in the meantime,l understand has already embarked on a new fighter project, superior to jf17 and very wisely Indeed.

While I get your sentiment, this is simply nowhere near the truth. If there was indeed political pressure to buy
J-10, then how and why right now? There seems to be absolutely no reason for china to pressure Pakistan to buy it.

Secondly, and I don’t know how many times this needs to be said, there is absolutely no comparison between a JF-17 Block 3 and a J-10C. The JF-17 block 3 is inferior in every single regard, simply because it’s a cheaper, smaller aircraft, and Pakistanis need to start admitting that.
The JF-17 cannot be a replacement for the J-10C no matter what we do to it, the J-10 can fly further, Carry more, see and engage further, fly better, the list goes on. PAF needs both aircraft in its inventory. One is a light aircraft that is only good for certain roles, the other is a Medium-weight fighter that’s a lot more versatile, If the JF-17 is so good, why aren’t we replacing F-16s and Mirages with it already? Clearly they’re not even as good as the J-10C.

China has not failed to sell the J-10 in my book, rather they’ve not tried to sell it, they barely marketed it to anyone except Pakistan, but they very openly marketed the JF-17 (which FYI China is doing just as much, if not more, to market the JF-17 then Pakistan is). They likely did this because there’s a much greater demand and less competition for a fighter in the JF category than there is in the J-10 category (especially considering the other options like Rafale, EF and F-16 Block 72s performance). On that note, one thing I will admit to is that Pakistans only option, as it stands, is the J-10C, otherwise they likely wouldn’t be going for it, especially if the F-16V and EFT Tr3/4 were available.

Another armchair expert....inferiority of a war machine is purely based on price. What a genius

Though he is generally right but at the same time, he is also undermining JF17 capabilities especially of block3.

One thing should be made clear here that JF17 is in light weight category where as J10C is in medium category so naturally J10 will carry more weapon payload. Hence both planes have their own importance since both are designed as per their need.

At the end of the day, we may not be adding major technological upgrade in the form of J10Cs with Block3 thunders around but still its a welcome addition even if it results in the slight increase of our air superiority capabilities. Slight increase is better than adding nothing.
