The outpost is around 11 kilometres (Lat 27.871 N,Lon 70.563 E) inside Indian territory, in the so-called Jaisalmer Bulge. It is a small mud Structure 70 by 60 metres across. 1965 War, the Inside Story by R.D. Pradhan:

In Chapter 8 titled "Of Cowardice and Panic", the author describes the cowardice of Maj. Gen. Niranjan Prasad, the Indian general commanding officer in Lahore sector. When the general was fired upon by Pakistani forces, he "ran away". "On learning that, Lt. Gen. Harbakash Singh and the corps commander drove in a Jonga to the battlefront. Army commander found that the enemy (PAF) air attack had created a havoc on G.T. Road. (Indian) Vehicles were burning and several vehicles of 15 Division abandoned on the road, the drivers having run away, leaving some of the engines still running. Maj. Gen. Niranjan Prasad was hiding in a recently irrigated sugar cane field. As described by Harabakash Singh: "He (Prasad) came out to receive us, with his boots covered with wet mud. He had no head cover, nor was he wearing any badges of his rank. He had stubble on his face, not having shaved." Seeing him in such a stage, Harbakhash Singh asked him: "Whether he was the General Officer commanding a division or a coolie? Why had he removed badges of rank and not shaved? Niranjan Prasad had no answer."

Pradhan's book contains many different entries by Indian Defense Minister Y.B. Chavan. A Sept 9, 1965 entry reads: Had a very hard day on all fronts. Very fierce counter-attacks mounted and we are required to withdraw in Kasur area. COAS was somewhat uncertain of himself. I suggested to him that he should go in forward areas so that he will be in touch of realities. He said he would go next day.

In Line of Duty: A Soldier Remembers, Lt Gen Harbakhsh Singh reveals that not only did Gen Chowdhury play a very small role in the entire campaign, he was so nervous as to be on the verge of losing half of Punjab to Pakistan, including the city of Amritsar. Harbakhsh describes, in clinical detail, how our own offensive in the Lahore sector had come unhinged. The general commanding the division on Ichchogil canal fled in panic, leaving his jeep, its wireless running and the briefcase containing sensitive documents that were then routinely read on Radio Pakistan during the war. Singh wanted to court martial him, Chowdhury let him get away with resignation.

According to Shekhar Gupta, the editor of Indian Express, Harbkhash Singh recounts that a bigger disaster struck a bit to the south where the other division cracked up in assault, just as it encountered a bit of resistance. Several infantry battalions, short on battle inoculation, deserted and Singh gives a hair-raising account – and confirmation of a long-debated rumor – that Chowdhury panicked so badly he ordered him to withdraw to a new defensive line behind the Beas, thereby conceding half of Punjab to Pakistan. Singh describes the conversation with Chowdhury at Ambala where he refused to carry out the order, asking his chief to either put it down in writing or visit the front and take charge of the battle.

While IA succeeded in achieving its strategic objective( maintaining status quo ).
And Pakistan had qualitative superiority in both land and air,and the closest in terms of quantitaive parity ever in all the major wars between the 2 nations.

The K Fort is west of Islamgarh ( Liaqautput Tehsil, Pak ) , at a distance of 6-8 kms from the IB with nothing of value in between.

Quite the way Pak too has left parts of Thar undeveloped ..

And yet it was India that invaded Pak in the early morning of 6 September ? And the usual "we will capture lahore ... Ended up almost handing over Panjab to Pak".

Usual nonsense.. India e hited numerical as well as technological edge... Iaf had 3:1 superiority along with jets like gnats etc.. Tanks again the same thing Pak had smaller fleet and even patrons were in small numbers meanwhile the majority of the fleet consisted of tanks like shermans,Chaffee etc ve vastly outnumbered by Indian centurions ,Amxs etc.

Captured by pakistan as in its main armor attack crushed leaving behind 100 tanks destroyed or abandoned.
You can try to divert it all you want..everyone knows the objective was to take kashmir first by covert means,and when that didn't succeed by direct attack at akhnoor to cut off indian troops in kashmir.Pak never realized IA could strike back towards Lahore.
Bhutto even declared ''The last chance to take kashmir by force'',and Ayub khan -''hindu morale will not stand a couple of hard blows at the right time and place''.And after these bombastic proclamations had to end up defending lahore.

As for you denying the qualitative superiority of PA and PAF in 1965.Number of tanks on both sides was near equal with over 700.But Half of pakistan's tanks over 350 were latest Pattons from USA which could only be matched by india's centurions.India had only 180 or so centurions.The AMX-13 was a light tank with poor armor and only somewhat good firepower,no match for pattons head on.In artillery PA also had higher numbers of heavy calibre(100mm plus) guns.Moreover india had to keep a substantial part of its forces on the border with china.Only in infantry did IA have a clear numerical superiority.

In the air,the F-86F sabres of PAF had Sidewinder AAMs,while IAF aircraft had no AAMs -a HUGE Disadvantage.IAF gnats only had cannons.
The f-104 starfighter was also the most advanced fighter on the subcontinent -supersonic and the fastest aircraft in the conflict.Both sabre and starfighter had been frontline fighters for USAF.The B-57 bombers imported from USA were also modern and highly potent for ground strikes.
As for India the folland gnat was not even a frontline fighter used by the RAF,it was used as a trainer.IAF used this as frontline fighter jet.The single squadron of mig-21 having been inducted less than a year ago hadn't even completed pilot training.The hawker hunter was the only aircraft in numbers comparable with the sabres,but still lacked AAMs.
Moreover PAF had been getting pilot training in USA since late 50s,IAF at that time had no such facilities.The IAF tactical analysis centre TACDE was opened in 1971.You can ignore these facts all you want.

In all 1965 represented pakistan's one true chance of defeating india militarily,but ended in failure.By 1971 it was too late and result was obvious.
