The family of a 13-year-old who fell to his death from Tower Bridge in London have released two pictures of the schoolboy.
Zaheid Ali, a year 8 pupil from Ark Globe academy in Elephant and Castle, south London, was formally identified after his body was recovered from the Thames on 28 April.

Zaheid was said to have been travelling with a friend on a bus but was reported missing by his school’s headteacher on 20 April. It is understood he left the bus near London Bridge, one stop before he would usually get off for his school.
According to witnesses, a member of the public went into the water to try to save the teenager but managed only to retrieve his schoolbag and jacket as he disappeared under the water.

An inquest into Zaheid’s death will take place shortly, arranged by the Southwark coroner.
City of London police confirmed Zaheid’s age and released two pictures of him from his family, one showing him dressed in his yellow and black school uniform, and another in which he is relaxing on a sofa.
Ark Globe academy is understood to be liaising with Zaheid’s family about how best to commemorate his life.
The school’s executive principal, Matt Jones, said: “Our hearts go out to his family and friends. As a school community, we are pulling together ensuring all our students are supported at this difficult time.”
Zaheid died in the same week as 20-year-old Folajimi Olubunmi-Adewole, who died attempting to rescue a woman who fell from London Bridge.
Police and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution have previously warnedthat the Thames is “incredibly dangerous” due to fast currents, cold water shock and hidden obstacles.
A spokesperson for City of London police said: “The family of Zaheid Ali has now formally identified the body recovered from the Thames on 28 April as that of Zaheid, who was seen falling into the river on 20 April.
“Our thoughts are with his family and friends.”

Another thing I want to mention, his suicide note has been posted on his Twitter account before, however no one took it serious, we all need to read the signs of suicide early on to try prevent suicide.

That's tragic, Allah bless him.
What's clear in is note is that the horrible influence of social media, which clearly had a huge influence over him.

Poor kid had 50$ dollars saved to buy a PS3.
What was the cause of suicide?
Not sure, on his suicide note he did say he has given clues on his social media’s, he just turned 13, must’ve been something serious going on if a boy aged 12 turning 13 had resorted to taking his own life.

He said that life was difficult since 2016 that is when he was 8 or 9.

It's so sad to read this. What could be so terrible in a 13 year old life that chicken and chips, football and a few hours gaming can't fix?

This is why as a community we need to stop spending money coating our masjids in marble and crystal chandeliers and use that money to make youth centres.

Our children need places to hang out, have fun, get guidance, talk to people - all without the influence of the harami dealers on the streets.

Oh chacha ji if you have read what Mosques used to be in the Prophets time they were community centres and inportant matters were discussed there throughout time mosques have changed alot.
And why do you cherry pick mosques why cant you make a youth centre instead of going to a marasi concert or a sheesha shop?

Ths problem is social media this problem will surely come to Pakistan in a few years and boomers like Imran Khan are busy inviting major social media companies to Pakistan.Social media is a cancer and its high time we deal with it as such.

In this age of social media and easy access to all sorts of information, parents need to be more vigilant and careful with their kids. They should make sure the kids dont become too emotional. I see teenagers nowadays get emotional on little stupid stuff. We used to be beaten with sticks and still laughed it off and never became emotional.
