Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday asked Pakistan to "walk away from terror" if it wants to establish amicable relations with India, The Indian Express reported.

Modi was speaking at the inauguration of the second edition of the Raisina Dialogue, an annual conference held in New Delhi, envisioned to be India's flagship conference on geopolitics and geo-economics.

In his speech, he said if Pakistan wants to build a relationship with India and have a dialogue, it must distance itself from "terror activities".

"Those in our neighbours who support violence, hatred and export terror stand isolated and ignored," Modi said.

The Indian premier said he extended an invitation to all members of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), including Pakistan, around the time he assumed office.

"I had also travelled to Lahore but India alone cannot walk the path of peace," the Indian premier added.

Emphasising the importance of security in India's "neighbourhood", he said, “Security of our citizens is of paramount importance [but] self-interest alone is not in our culture or behaviour."

"A thriving well-integrated neighbourhood is my dream,” Modi added.

Modi also played down India's deteriorating relationship with China, saying having differences between two "large neighbouring powers" is not "unnatural".

"In the management of our relationship and for peace and progress, we need to show sensitivity and respect for our core concerns," he added.

There is no terror supported by Pakistan. It is the delusion of India. They have been fighting the war of independence since 1947 and trying to re-brand the freedom of Kashmirs into terrorism.

It depends on your definition of terror. But Indians on this forum have this weird logic of calling attacks on their military as terrorism, where as terrorism is only when civilians are hurt.

terror is terror whether on military of civilians

the point is, when you suppress the desire of people and force them to lean towards you, if they protest, it's the demand/struggle of freedom but our neighbours have re-branded the hue and cries of oppression in militancy, such a great diplomatic success, I do acknowledge that

Even wanted to come to the table for talks but being aware of response and reaction by supporters/voters couldn't say clearly but still with blames. Seems like desperate to talk and paving way for such that soon as talks resumed (that everyone would like to but like this) can tell the people that how he demanded Pakistan hence the talks while on the same time storm of media propaganda will be all prepared for praises. Before making such accusations, has to review his own policies and stance over terrorism while keeping in view his talks about favouring groups like Mukti to receiving fake letters from GB and Baluchistan as well as housing BLA/BLF etc terrorists and support to them. How about stop supporting NDS/ANA against Pakistan as well as creating conspiracies with countries against Pakistan while claiming the so-called isolation. Another attempt to turn Kashmir Freedom Struggle into so-called terrorism to cover own atrocities in IoK but those killings wouldn't go in vain like this.

Or he is clearly stating that there will be no talks as the wish for peace comes with blame from him as unproven but was necessary as Elections are getting closer so make few more political points once again contrary to the facts that achieved nothing but pushed the region to further escalation. Indeed Pakistan wants to come with dialogue with India by distancing itself from terrorists hence no talks with NaMO, Doval etc. The obsession is at high that even got thrashed in BRICS to not to come with such blames but still couldn't resist. Prove the claims on table by talks and let's call others as witness however, trying to come-up with counter verbal strategy while recently the matter of Kulbushan is submitted in UN so there is no hurry and such games takes times.

Mr Modi You started State Sponsor terrorism in 71 .. Apologize for it Leave Kashmir and than we'll talk
