What's new

Russia agreed on a contract to supply 46 MiG fighters to Egypt

Wow

That is a lot of shopping in a rather short span of time.

Is the MIG news confirmed ?

EAF will have a very busy training, logistic and support exercise to follow !

Rafale is not paid by saudi , 50% cash and the rest is loans from french banks and don't just throw any claims
ok ok

The Saudis have long wielded their great wealth in regional causes. But even by Saudi standards, their efforts in Egypt stand out. Within a week of the Egyptian military’s July 3 takeover, they had announced a $12 billion rescue package that dwarfs direct military and economic grants from the United States ($1.5 billion) and the European Union ($1.3 billion) combined. The gulf Arabs’ deep pockets made the United States’ contribution seem important largely for its symbolism

why do you that Egypt that was struggling for decades for military acquisition suddenly goes to the most expensive option available

most of the saudi ~ UAE ~ kuwait help was economic funds as after 2 revolution we was spending from our reserve , and maybe they helped in other stuff as well but rafale deal was announced that we took loans from french banks , we wasn't struggling to have any arms before , we was only struggling with US as it wasn't provide us with their goodies or just like the f-16 without amraam and 9x and when they refused back in time when we showed interest in F-15 , but pretty much every other country we had never been into problem in any arms deal

money is still in the Central Bank of Egypt as a foreign reserve as it meant to be. Cheers.

Really , Rafale? So Egyptian economy is stable now? Rafale , Mig-35 are great addition for EAF , but why so sudden? any specific threat from any enemy that have superior air force then Egypt ?
Of course, civilian protesters will be a threat.
Seriously, Egypt faces no other threat. The gov't worships Israel, and Sudan and Libya don't have capacity to attack Egypt. So civilians are obviously the primary targets. Welcome to Sisi's Egypt :)

Some Egyptians choose to be blind, even though Sissi has yet to fulfill his promises, keep postponing the formation of parliment, and the absolute fact that most of Sissi's appointed minions are from Mubarak's regime.

Like the newly appointed Znd fella, the new Justice minister, who one said that "We are the masters, and everyone else is a slave.."

Those who supported the coup that toppled the elected president and brought the Pro-ASSad, Pro-Alawite regime into power will suffer the consequences of their actions.

And KSA is paying for Rafale, What will KSA achieve by hurting Egyptian peoples? If Mr Sisi have some motive for Egypt then it is easier to understand but KSA? and If civilians are matter then their F-16 and Mirage2000 are enough to crush any of such rebellion attempt. They are investing unnecessarily on their military.

MIG-35 really is a formidable fighter .... See those targeting pods.
