What's new

What do you guys think ?

Now you are little bit exaggerating it-
How many times a week you see muslim janta running to pray a namaz parking their cars in the streets- praying in the streets blocking the road- Maybe once a week only during Juma prayers- when all of them suddenly become Muslims-

The rest of the week mosques are almost empty bro-

I was talking about the Jummah prayers and the 5 prayers at some of the larger mosques.

I don't think I ever saw anyone praying on the street but I've seen aplenty parking their cars in the most awkward manner just so that they can make it for such and such a prayer !

when/where did this happen??

if it does - you should yourself go and grill them

Last year went to pakistan, karachi. It was Eid miladun Nabi, literally I was stunned. Some of their naats were very sectarian! Biased against shias.

That's like singing your death warrant. You say keep religious topic out of it but Mullah biradari will bring religion into it. Everything is a conspiracy. Try being a White English living in a high Pakistani/Bengali populated area in UK.

I dont think lodspeakers are allowed in mosques in UK.
They should be banned anyway, unless special permission is take on specific occasion/festival.
I was quite annoyed about people burning crackers after 11 during diwali... that is so inconsiderate.

if they have no solutions to the issues that do face Pakistan or the ability to build on successes that we have in Pakistan - they should shove their sectarian garbage up their azzholes.... or go hang with their so-called deobandi/ulama-e-hind losers across the border

dont even get me started on this ''Maulvi Sahab'', he should face a death squad in my opinion.....

i could kill him myself and send him to his Maker, if/when given the chance

So u guys have this problem too. Imagine couple of gurdwaras a mandir and pir baba dargah closeby n all praying same time early morning on full vol loudspeakers n on some auspicious day whole night. Plus a marriage hall nearby with Sikh marraiges happening daytime n Hindu nighttime with full volume doom dharaka n birds bringing meat bones to ur home

Its Muharram and the Molvi Sahiban on my right have spent the last 1-2 nights nights blazing away on the speakers and like last year I'm sure another week's worth of such nights are in store.

The Molvi Sahiban on my back do the same on Eid-Milad-un-Nabwi or any other such occasion and stays the night before and the night after glued to the loudspeaker.

Whereas the Molvi Sahiban on my right end up blocking the entire road when they have a Naat-khawani on one of these days in addition to competing with each other on who could deliver the naats better "read" louder !

And this by-the-way is happening while all of these Molvi Sahiban are almost half a km from my place...I can't imagine what the people right on their door-step would have to go through !

My question is - Do you guys see a way out of this ? Do you think that, barring the conservative faction in our society, there would be enough mainstream support to help regulate such Religious Occasions where the loudspeaker is gripped a bit gently and roads aren't blocked or do you think that even the Majority of us are alright with this ?

I ask this because whenever I talk about this (to all kinds of people) all of them are unanimous that something needs to be done and yet nothing gets done !

Why do you think that is so and what do you guys think as Pakistanis and as Muslims is the way out for us ?

P.S This isn't a Religious Thread (at least not in my mind's eye) because I have no interest whatsoever on debating the merits or demerits of whatever different people do or believe in Pakistan and I don't really care what Religious Justification they ground their actions in.

I'm simply interested in looking at this from an Administrative Angle while being mindful of religious sensibilities of others which as Muslims we'd probably be anyhow !

It should all be regulated, and controlled.

@Armstrong, if I can't escape this sort of behaviour in the UK, what hope in hell do people in Pakistan have?

On the 27th of the Holy month, our own molvi sb was shouting naara e takbeer on loudspeaker many times, many many times. Waking up half the neighbourhood at 2-3am at night in a mixed-religious/ethnic residential area. My ears were ringing, but it didn't bother me, my focus was elsewhere.

Every Friday prayer, there's a man who has his house right next to the mosque, I know him personally, every Friday some daft pious Muslim parks his junker in front of the man's own parking space, blocking him from backing his car out of the parking. He has had a strong words with the owner of the cars, but still our pious idiots are arrogant enough to fight back and not admit to their mistake.

If these people who can speak fluent English, live in a secular society, where both they and their kids are reasonably educated and accustom to other people's customs (no pun intended), and they still behave like this. What hope in hell do Pakistanis have?
I would say one suggestion is to teach our kids to keep religion between us and our God, and not to involve others, bragging about religion and shouting about it goes against it's very principles and spirituality.

Be a proud Muslim, but bow your head in humility, respect the laws and customs of the land, respect other people's space, if you use religion to cross that line, then by God you're using your religion unjustly.

Lucky you do not live near me than my Hindu friend as we lob proper Chinese fireworks not that standard crap you buy at Tesco's at neighbours houses and other buildings just for the hell of it  Diwali makes the inner child come out in each of us.

As for these loud speakers it is not only a issue in Pakistan but in India too I witnessed this and it is like each one is trying to outdo the other by having the louder speaker! like who's got the biggest penis!

Sir Iqbal ko parhaa haiii but alongside its English translations; unfortunately I only studied Urdu at school to pass the exam - Never thought it very useful ! :(

But then I started reading Iqbal, Quaid-e-Azam and the Pakistan Movement and when Patriotism was sky-high I was ashamed at my lack of proficiency in Urdu ! :ashamed:

Abbb ummmer guzar gaiii haiii....abbb kahan Urdu seekhii ja saktiii haiii ?
I learnt Tamil ,a bit malayalam and urdu.Halfway through learning Urdu I said to my self"hey!what are you doing? Why are you unnecessarily spending time on a language that serves no purpose to you?Think how many English books you can read and how much knowledge you can gain in that time." From then onwards I stopped learning new languages.Learning Tamil was no waste of time as many of the whatever few good songs come from Tamil as tamilnadu is a haven of arts(it is the land of ilayaraja,AR rahman,Harris jayaraj and film poets like vairamuthu ).What I mean to say is in today's world English is enough to acquire whatever knowledge we want.

You can't generalise entire India. In the place where I live people have to take permission for using loud speakers. The rules are strict.some years ago we also used to have this mess during ayyappa pujas and vinayaka chavithi. Now police are taking such issues seriously(to an extent we should also admire people here who are a bit disciplined and don't like to put up with all this noise mess).

this is a result of anarchy, no law and order, and pandering (un-nessessarily) to the maulvis because for some reason we are 'afraid' of them....hor chooppo.

Dude, you are complaining about the Maulvi, that donkey-sounding, container riding leader of PTI has been blaring near my house every night for the past 3 months now! Count your blessings because I have thought many times to put this donkey to sleep with one in the head for good to get some peaceful and sound sleep myself!

in country where even 10 people in the name of protest block the main busiest roads leading to even death of patients as they cant reach hospital due to blockage, a country where political parties can occupy any area any place for jalsa, long march and dharna what do you expect (allow me to coin this word) "Religious Corporate Sector" will lag behind?

there is need to make legislation for such activities and under this legislation assign specific parks, halls, place for such activities.
