From my own exprience there is a HUGE difference in mentality between west and arabs.

If you ever go to Turkey then travel to arab countries it will feel like different planets because of totally different mentality (Turkey is almost like west while arabs have totally different way of thinking/mentality).

I have seen on a personal level that this has a lot to do with how we think.

Arabs tend to mix their emotions into everything, they think with their emotions rather than just with the brain using logic and common sense which is what they do in the west.

Just the other day I had an argument with an arab in Turkey, it was a small argument about money he owed me, I didn't curse, raise my voice or was rude in any sense. I simply said I'd take him to court unless he paid me what he owed me.

This arab suddenly started cursing at me with really nasty words, then TWICE threatened to come over and kill my family.
What this stupid man didn't know was that I recorded everything.
He is from Iraq and is NOT a turkish citizen but has temporary right to stay in Turkey.
I called a few friends and got higher ranking police involved, now I'm 99% sure he will get some kind of jail then be deported.

This is a good example of emotional thinking, sure if I wanted to I could make him cry like a baby, heck I even have friends calling me right now asking me if I want them to teach him a lesson. But no I'm not emotional, I'll make this man suffer in ways he can't even imagine with his small emotional brain.

For 1 minute of emotion this man ruined his whole life, once you threaten a mans family there is no forgiveness, justice will be served (of course within the rules of the law).

But I can't help but think there is some "stupidity" in genetics involved as well.
This man that threatened me has no idea who I am and what kind of contacts I have, he is just a man from Iraq working in Turkey. I will enjoy ruining his life and watch him cry as he gets kicked out to Iraq...

By the way I'm a smart person, which means even if I don't like it I need to be patient with idiots like this.

But what is known in Turkey is that you NEVER EVER threaten another persons family like that, because if you threaten another persons family it's like begging to be shot in the head.
But this arab still did it, he lacks basic values we have here in Turkey.
Which is if you have a problem with someone you threaten him/her only, not their family. It's considered very wrong here to do that and an arab from Iraq won't understand this ever.

Let me ask you Pakistanis in the forum, in Pakistan is it ok to threaten another mans family when arguing?

I'm trying to understand how you think in Pakistan if it's similar to Turkey/west or more like arabs.

My guess is it's similar to Turkey, that certain things are a big NO NO, I think this way because Pakistan is in Asia where most of the turkish culture/mindset/values comes from originally. But I'm not sure that's why I'm asking.

Or to put it another way do people in Pakistan think more using logic like turkish people or do you think more with emotions like arabs?

We have emotional thinkers in Turkey too but it's a minority, most use logic.

An American friend once told me that people in Turkey are extremely secular in how they think, even if we say we are muslims and so on the mentality/way of thinking is very secular.

You can call that "recipe" what ever - "Western", "Modernism" etc but the effects are same be it Japanese, South Koreans, Singaporans and of late you guys - the Turks. And you get progress which is why your country has shot forward.

Then you have Pakistan where most people still have not adopted the modern way of thinking [there are individual exceptions but the majority are still stuck in the past traditions] and the result is retarded development. You can even send Pakistanis to Europe like our friend @Azadkashmir here but they just bring that retarded thinking with them. They can't figure out that Pakistan is in the craps because of the mindset of the people.

The causes are endogenous to Pakistani culture and thinking. Tht is why we became slaves to British during the colonial era. But here is the craziness. Instead of fixing that mindset by moving forward and adopting the recipe of success they instead want to drink even more doses of the recipe that fcuked us up in the first place.

That is why your chilling in Turkey. The Arab is the migrant in Turkey. I am migrant in UK. AzadKashmir is son of migrant in UK.
