Frankly speaking, i am not that hopeful about the ODI results for Pakistan. Tests were a different ball game and when the tour started i mentioned how i am confident about the test performance but so much for ODI. The team proved me right for the first part and i hope they will prove me wrong for second.

Looking forward for some entertaining games!

I hope they use the same ball for ODIs too

Tuk Tuk blocking blocking may win you test matches but not one days and t20s where you need aggressive approach and must find the ways to score runs. Pakistani batsmans did not lose wickets but strike rate was very low for this Engalnd team who even chase 300 plus

The first match was exactly as per expectation. A below par score on a superb batting pitch which was bound to have even our bowlers struggling!! Add a missed catch or two and this is the classic Pakistani ODI defeat!

We still play ODI the old fashioned way while the game have moved on. We do not have the players to keep pace with the evolving game in ODI format and it is as simple as that.

Need power hitters, Sohaib Maqsood should come in for Malik. And Imad should be replaced with Yasir Shah. Who the hell selected Gul?

Imad comes as an all rounder obviously. We need those!
Power hitters are required but where should we bring them from? If the domestic games are to be looked at there are no big names in there either and thus sticking with this lot.

Also i would like a more aggressive opener with Sharjeel and Azhar should come at 3 or 4 number to play that inzi/misbah/younis role of anchor! We cannot afford a 110 ball 60 up front!

Imad is not a good bowler, not a very impressive hitter. Could be a better top-order batsmen. Nawaz is a better package in his place, he can bowl better. Sohaib Maqsood is a good hitter, i deal number 6 for us. So much potential, and still we can't deliver. I hope Babar Azam isn't unlucky in the coming matches, has some serious potential and brains.

Azhar should play at 3 and Hafeez is better opening with Sharjeel, considering we ain't dropping Hafeez anytime soon.

Babar Azam i agree with. Imad i still feel we need all rounders and do not ahve many other options. Nawaz is already in the team so he wont be replacing Imad.


For me it should be like

1. Sharjeel
2. XYZ (A good Hitter)
   
3. Hafeez (IF THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO OTHER OPTION AT ONE DOWN, ELSE JUST GET RID OF HIM PLEASE SOMEONE WHO ROTATES THE STRIKE)
4. Azhar Ali
   
5. Batsman who can score at decent pace (Who can bowl a bit, someone like Hafeez before ban or Shoaib Malik but someone new but mainly a batsman)
   
6. Sarfaraz
7. All Rounder (Imad/Nawaz or whoever else is the best)
8. Fast Bowler (who can bat a bit, Wahab or anyone like him but better at bowling)
   
9. Bowler (Spinner of Pacer based on conditions)
   
10. Amir
11. Wahaz/Gul/Whoever is the best

You are focusing too much on Yasir. He have been a disappointment in ODIs and the conditions wont suite him either. That is the reason he was droped in first ODI.

So your list reads somewhat like:

1. Sharjeel
2. Hafeez/Shahzad
3. Hafeez or anyone else
4. Azhar
5. Babar Azam
6. Harsi Sohail
7. Sarfaraz
8. Sohaib Maqsood
9. Amir
10. Bowler
11. Bowler

This is 3 bowlers, we need 3 more at least 2. Preferable a 6th who can bowl decent.

Plus who you rank as hitters and as i can see that anchor there in Azhar but what about middle order hitters? Haris Sohail and Sohaib up of that task?
