India's shopping list of New Russian Defence deals - Innoprom 2016

@Always Neutral its www.defencetalk the forum is not permitting me to post it and makes it into stars
look it up

have put space, collate and look up

on side note, was operated and turned down as costs were too high and requirement not justified

Asking because I got hints that TorM2KM , the contender in QRSAM for Army had edge over SPYDER SR and SAABs offering because TorM2 relation with S400( in Russian aerospace forces is used to defend S400 sites) .
There will be no imported QRSAM for IA. It will be DRDO QRSAM which is now in pre production stage.
By 2018 it will enter production.

... the first submarine could come faster ( hint there are 6 Akulas presently lying across 2 major shipyards and 1 base in Russia , one among them was Kashlot , so it was offered ,

*cough, cough* Admiral G.../Vikramaditya :what:

So faster by IST at best and even then ...
Don't get your hopes up too high ...

Just sayin', Tay.

weblink does not work and some Indian fanboys here claimed stupidly that these were secretly being operated by India which is bull shyte.

It does seem IN had these see page 130 in "Significance of Indo-Russian Relations in 21st Century" by V. D. Chopra

The Tu22M was structured under the clause leased to purchase.

The original deal was under Admirnal Goroshov / vikramaditya deal. It compromised of
  1. Lease first purchase later - 4 Tu 22M3 (backfire C)
  2. Akula 2 subs - 2 in numbers from hulls present in shipyard
These assets were placed with Indian Navy as Tu142 were on overhaul.

Their primary role defined in books is maritime recon and maritime strike

But they have range of close to 6500-7000 km of ferry range and close to 2500 km of combat range with mission loads.

it can carry 6 Kh 15 missiles in a rotory launcher in bomber bay and 4 under 2 wings.. So eventually these 10 Kh15 may be replaced with Brahmos NG.

Officially i think we might have 8 backfires now in total including new purchases.. and that should be enough bcz that implies with 50% availability also 4 are always there to deliver
either of 4x 3 kh22 or 4 x 10 kh15 or later Brahmos Air launched version and future NG version.
I have seen backfires in India in the past, so no surprise there.

6 new IL 76 aircraft for purchasing Phalcon AWACS from Israel and integration
6 more A-50s? Is this in addtion to the 2 follow ons already being made for India or another 4 will be ordered on top of the 3+2?

Either way, I hadn't heard thought more than 5 PHALCON AWACS would be in service.

200 Ka226T for which a factory is being setup
Pointless, utterly pointless....

Up-gradation and modernization of Mig 29 aircraft for $ 0.9 Billion
This is already in full steam.

4 new Tu 22M3 long ranged bombers under black project
Would only be useful if the Brahmos-A could be intergrated with it.

This is in addition to Airbus 330 platform for Indian AWACS? If true, this will be a mighty mighty force multiplier (total 9 Phalcons). @Abingdonboy
The DRDO's AWACS (India) project based on the A330 is entirely seperate to the PHALCON/A-50EI purchases. The PHALCONS will be in service by 2019/20, the AWACS (India) is to be in service from 2020-21 onwards.

On a serious note if the purchase/lease of Backfire is confirmed who is going to the operator of them? IAF or IN?
Indian Navy.

2: do russia even sell the tu-22m3?
thats classed as a strategic bomber and a few countries wont be too happy with russia selling that to india and they refused to sell to the other.
India is reported to have already leased 4 Tu-22 back in the early 00s and furthermore, displeasing other countries doesn't really enter into the India-Russia equation considering they have already worked together to lease SSNs, sell air craft carriers, create a JV for one of the world's most deadly cruise missiles and are working on a next gen fighter toeghet (FGFA).

4: 80 mil17v5's: ok sure the mil 17's are getting old . russia should have purchased some dhruvs where india would have purchased more mil17v5's
150 Mi-17 V5s have already been ordered by India, another 80 is not surprising considering there are/were 250-300 older Mi-8/17 in IAF/BSF/Pawan Hans service.

IAF Mi-17 V5s have been in service for a while now:

5: 6 ll-76's ok sure but will they come with ps-90 engines? and what about the other a-50 and il76/78 will they be upgraded?

Not IL-76s but A-50EIs that will have the PS-90 engine just like the other A-50EIs already in IAF service:

The IAF's IL-76 and 78 are set to receive a MLU soon and the new engine may be part of the package.
also lets see if pakistan responds to lease a chinese nuclear sub in responce india leasing a pair if nuclear subs from russia.
Perhaps but I'm sure the IN with the most capable ASW in the region will not be too bothered by these "noisy" subs entering the game.

Having said that, the IN has had a leased SSN (Chakra), is building their own class fo SSBN and now SSN and the PN has yet to "respond" so perhaps their very limited budget just doesn't allow them to respond in kind.

Is it correct @PARIKRAMA that India has Backfires in its inventory?

This is in addition to Airbus 330 platform for Indian AWACS? If true, this will be a mighty mighty force multiplier (total 9 Phalcons). @Abingdonboy

:toast_sign: this probably is the best news. What it implies is that, India can purchase additional batteries in future as well.

Yes, i too heard that a big announcement can be made at the end of this year in December when Indo Russian Annual Co-operation meeting is due.
We do have some backfires in inventory , think they came in 2002 on lease.
