Israeli Defence Analyst Caroline B. Glick who served has Captain in Israel Defense Forces in her latest report has urged Benjamin Netanyahu’s government in effort to maintain Israel’s qualitative edge against Iran should not depend on American solely on supply fighter jet after US administration rejected Israel’s requests for additional F-15 systems which it could have used to defend against Iran attacks.

US administration also has rejected Israel’s request to outfit its own electronics systems and bunker buster bombs in its current fleet of F-15 and instead wants Israel to buy F-35 which has been facing technical issues and will take next few years to fully become operationalised.

Analyst argues that F-35 is an impressive next generation fighter. But at the same time, as Aaron Lerner from IMRA news aggregation service noted this week, the F-35 suffers from one major weakness that arguably cancels out all of its advantages. That weakness is the F-35’s operational dependence on software laboratories and logistics support computers located in the US.

She also explains that All F-35 aircraft operating across the world will have to update their mission data files and their Autonomic Logistic Information System (ALIS) profiles before and after every sortie, to ensure that onboard systems are programmed with the latest available operational data and that ALIS is kept permanently informed of each aircraft’s technical status and maintenance requirements.“ALIS can, and has, prevented aircraft taking off because of an incomplete data file.

F-35’s continuous dependence on a US-based logistics system is a critical weakness is that it would be irresponsible of Israel to trust that the US will not abuse its power to undermine and block IAF operations.

In light of the F-35s massive vulnerabilities and the diminishment of US power in the Middle East and beyond, Netanyahu should view India’s enthusiasm for Israeli systems as an opportunity to end the IAF’s utter dependence on increasingly undependable US systems.

Analyst urges that instead of procurement of the 14 additional F-35s, Netanyahu should offer Modi to jointly develop a next-generation AMCA fighter jet based on the Lavi.

This is the news I want to hear since the announcement of AMCA program. But uncle Sam will not allow its ally to fall out from us arm market.
Any way we should try our best to involve Israelis on AMCA program.

Israel will anyway get involved with AMCA ( Knowing our technical know how on critical systems like Radar etc) but if they get involved for joint then we can expect miracles remember they have operational understanding of some great birds like F15. It will definitely be a Win-Win situation if its a joint product

That's not going to happen, US would never allow it, maybe IDF wants to get more F-35!!

I expect more such articles prior to Modi's visit to Israel this year. Nevertheless Indo-Israel relations have a huge scope of improvement. I would personally like to see more headway on irrigation technology and more cooperation between state law enforcement agencies. Also Krav Maga is a great thing to learn and therefore more Krav Maga training institutions need to be opened across India, especially for women.

As far as AMCA is concerned I'm expecting cooperation in avionic equipments.

AMCA is now fully a 2 way competition for cooperation at strategic level

One side is USA Ge 414 engine and USA expertise offered by Ashton Carter..
The other side is the recent hush hush offering by France to make AMCA based on Rafale airframe and assimilate all requirements of India in a JV.. It will also incorporate certain tech from Neuron, proven tech upgrades for NG Rafale systems, radars and a much heavier 120Kn engine development through M88 family via Safran with India..
That was offered and for that Doval has been to Paris... France also agreed to accommodate certain tech from Israel in that program..

So there are basically 2 point of contact for AMCA tie up
DM MP - USA courting+GE+EMALs+ DTII+ 3 agreements (LSA, BECA, CISMOA)+ all other US weapon platforms
NSA AD - France for AMCA, Rafales, UCAV Technologies and SSNs tech sharing + Civilian Reactors......

So what will be the outcome will be anybody's guess... But i will put my money in anything other than USA for AMCA program.. We are dependent on GE for LCA engines, thats more than enough.. EMALs + E2D hawkeye .. again more than enough.. Cherry pick some of the assets not everything like we did with P8I+apaches+chinooks+C17+C130s,,,,

Getting USA in main programs on board will need us to adhere to some of their geo political needs.. That can be counter productive for India..

I thought we will use some of the knowledge we gained from the PAK-FA project and Rafale deal for AMCA. Also first develop lca mk2 for fucks safe before embarking on this project.

Can the GE414 provide AMCA, with Super Cruise , Super Maneuverability and TV?

Apart from a sensor fusion, stealth these capabilities truly define 5th gen.

Bhai plan is to select an existing engine and then develop it for the required thrust of 105-115 kn......And yes 2* 105-115 kn engines will enable amca to do super cruise.

it is very lucrative because the Israelis can happily milk the indian government for next forty years without even having a prototype on drawing board and then finally assemble a substandard unit with western components and fly it at some air show...for a lot of Jay Hind! Jay Hind! applause...

Ya like chinese did with you by providing cutomised version of FC-1....

At Least it flies and is mass produced..the bulk procurement of engines from Russia is a very real contract..

Are you seriously comparing our JVs like Bhramos/Barak NG and Phalcon awacs to FC-1?
