Israeli Defence Analyst urges Jerusalem to invest in India’s AMCA over American F-35

“Israel has no problem developing a fighter aircraft – the problem is money”
Israel could have built it's own aircraft but it would be to much of a burden from economic point of view.
As for the political view, America is Israel's best ally, and if Israel would make it own plane, or JV with other countries, it would undermine US.
For those reasons I don't see any posibility for such involvement in this specific project

It's like GE f404 IN 20 only, actually GE has done all works in both mentioned cases.
But we do have working jet engine kaveri, design & developed in India.

Do we even assemble GE404 for Tejas? No its all imported . While in case of Israel , they manufacture it and even export it.

This "analyst" is try to get India to FUND an Israeli 5th Generation Project; and in the end Israel will have a fully capable version, while India will get an export controlled (as a lot of US tech is in Israeli products) version

Similar to how Russia is selling India an export version of the Pak-Fa which is basically an updated Flanker variant with new "stealthy" wings

Considering the track record of the LCA program, this offer by the Israelis is probably the best option for india, especially in terms of a timetable

Pakistan did the same with the FC-1 aka JF-17

Ooops you forgot to mention 1 main difference in case of JF 17 aka FC-1 its china who owns the IP right and in this case as well as in LCA tejas case it India who owns or will own IP right....

No it's not, India has that option with PAK FA/FGFA. If India considered Dhruv's, or Prithivs, early Agnis, or early ISRO SLVs, what have yous timelines, or shortcomings and stop at that, India wouldnt have GSLVs, LCH, LUH, Agni 5s, K4s, etc, etc.

Another Marut-Tejas gap will NOT happen again. Now India has the time, money, human resource.

India is in advanced stages of dialogue with engine suppliers for the bird's engine.

ADA is conceptualizing it's supply chain, with extensive private firm participation.

Module construction being introduced, private firms like TATAs, Mahindras, L&Ts, Dynamic Tech, what have you delivering it's modules.

It's design is in late stage refinement, if not completed already.

Nothing is going to be based on a Lavi platform, this source sucks anyway.

But we developed kaveri engine by our own and will be using in our stealth drone, but Israel case is different. There is a huge difference is there. It's just a licence production by isreal like HAL assembling of mki and engine.

The biggest problem was the gap between Marut and Tejas. That will NOT happen again. Now India has the time, money, human resource.

What about the stealth skin? Are we doing something in that regard?

I don't doubt Indian industry from designing a capable aircraft
but somewhere along the production process, something goes awry, hence delays and these impressive designs taking decades to actually become operational

Delay to Tejas Mk 2 could push IAF into accepting modified Mk 1s | IHS Jane's 360

LCH, LUH, newer ballistic missiles, newer SLVs, etc. development cycles are increasingly becoming smaller than their predecessors. That. "JV", model approach is being done in the form of FGFA. India still needs to follow on from LCA, which it never did with Marut, which dropped everything and went for MIG 21s.

As far as that link is concerned. Ordering futher Tejas models to keep the production line going while mark 2 gets ready makes sense.

I know AMCA isnt an official program, yet, but enough background work has already been done. It's design is almost finalized. They're close to pitching for funds to produce prototypes.

It's not the design phase that's at issue, it production; the issue came up with Rafale production last year
quality control, and the reliability of critical parts by some major Indian sub-contractors
(this may very well be an issue that has been or is steadily being addressed, but deals are being delayed due to this issue)

Dassault didnt want to give any guarantees for HAL produced Rafales. Dassault was lobbying to work with Indian private firm, Reliance, instead of HAL. Either or, an Indian company was going to make Rafales.

I dont know what this has got to do with going ahead with this program.

The modules of the bird will most likely be made by Indian private firms like Reliance.

F35 fan boys, look the Israelis are saying that even though they have the plane the software for the mission computer is with the Americans, and its like they have given the gun and kept the trigger for themselves when ever you have to go for hunting one has to beg them to give them the trigger, you have to brief the Americans before you go for a mission, they will up load their software and say go ahead what if they say no?, even though you have a mighty weapon its useless without the software in the computers, this is like a super computer controlling all the planes sitting in america, for India its like giving your soul to america, they can manipulate you in whatever way they can, you will never be able to use against countries who are Americas chamchas, so its a complete no no for India.

And all the flight details of the mission what you are carrying what you are doing, where are you heading, each and every details are streamed live to the main super computer placed in America and they are unwilling to replace the mission computers with any other systems even for their allies, the Americans can sell the details of the mission to your enemies, so it is a complete drawback for any country who owns these planes other than Americans, remember the Americans refuced to place servers in india for encripted messaging in blackberry phones.
