Pakistan pitches for mutual demilitarisation of Siachen after Lance Naik Koppad's death

India will not do that, their whole strategy vis a vis pak-china now revolves around that. May be a joint pak china force to physically remove them is the answer. This should have been considered long ago, but then president zia was busy organizing referendums.

Which was itself a response to the preceding unprovoked Indian military aggression in Siachen i.e India and the IA cannot be trusted to keep its word.

What does the Kashmir Agreement say? Your government signed it. Ever bothered reading it? The concept of response does not simply arise, because, your government agreed to the putting it on paper.

So next time, read the agreements. Instead of crying every second day, Oh I meant this, but I wrote this.

Yes, everything is Indian unprovoked aggression. Pakistan has always sat pretty.
Of course bro, 1947,1965, 1971,1999 and everything in between has seen unprovoked Indian agressian and Pakistani triumph- nothing more, nothing less.

What part of 'mutual demilitarisation' does your hate-mongering brain not comprehend?
Who in their right mind would trust Pakistan to keep its word after Kargil, sheltering OBL, funding/training/supporting JuD, LeT, JeM etc?

The ONLY way 'mutual demilitarisation' can happen is if both sides sign off on the AGPL but this is something the PA simply won't accept as doing so would expose the reality to the Pakistani populace that they have been lied to for decades and that the PA doesn't hold a single centimetre of the Siachin glacier.

I ask indian members to go easy there is a certain x TT now mod who will either delete your post or ban you if you go all out or wont toe pakistan line or views of pakistani members in this forum ,he has already deleted a post of someone in reply to a TT from lucknow in this thread

Breaking up of India was also unprovoked, sending murdering and raping tribals in Kashmir was also Indian unprovoked aggression.

India is the barbarian and Pakistan the knight in shining armor. We were doomed from the get go.

Bro, if you engage in their logic they will find away of spinning a man slipping on the street as unprovoked Indian agression.

Get your facts right. India's operation Meghdoot and incursion into Siachen which resulted in the thievery of land from us resulted in Pakistan's future operation in kargil. Kargil was a response to siachen, not the other way around. Look at history and ask what happened first, the siachen conflict or the kargil debacle. It was India which invaded Siachen. Kargil was a response to even things but Indian media was in its initial phase of growing increasingly powerful. It convinced America and other countries that Pakistan was being belligerant and combative.

Not a word was raised on the Siachen attack which India launched but Pakistan was asked to pull back in Kargil. Unfortunate and shows that India's soft power had been growing since that early. Pakistani government should have done something to curtail this growing influence and perhaps we wouldn't have American offers to India to sell f16s better than ours or a nuke deal.

Siachen was undemarchated territory, not mapped and not an soldier in sight. In that case what gave Pakistan the right to approve Tourists operations in Siachen?
Secondly Musharaff himself had admitted an operation was in planning to capture Siachen and efforts were towards it. India just broke that plan.

Kargil was a clearly violation of LOC. The borders are known. Indo-Pak friendship bus had just started. ABV had put all his hope on the peace process. No tension of any sort. Everything seemed normal. And out of the Blue, Kargil happened. Its a complete violation of the border, violation of Shimla Agreement unlike Siachen.
Musharaff to avenge Siachen defeat took Kargil to his heart personally, leaving all those Pakistani soldiers to die for his selfishness.

Comparing Siachen and Kargil is like Apples and Oranges.

Two bald men fighting over a comb.
Make this region a buffer zone and de-militarize it----It's a better solution as compared to engaging in fruitless and useless debates over that piece of "real estate".

Please read the Karachi Agreement. It was not patrolled. Correct. But the Pakistani government agreed to the wordings on the document. It very clearly mentions who will control it. Cartographic aggression led to the Indian Army needing to enforce the Agreement. Please do not use the logic of un-demarcated territory. It was and is Indian territory.

The part where Pakistan Army needs to first be 'present' on the Siachen glacier for it to be a 'mutual demilitarization'.

In this case, since Pakistan Army is literally not present on even one feet of the Siachen, it is called unilateral demilitarization of the Siachen.

Lastly, India is no longer interested in any such unilateral demilitarization. The fact of the matter is that Govt of India does not trust Pakistan Army which is akin to a rogue institution - which overthrows the elected Govt's of Pakistan time and again...and starts wars without taking consent of its own Government - which it did by crossing the established LoC and taking Indian positions after the declaration of CFL.

On account of repeated violations of established agreements signed between India and Pakistan, the Pakistani military will not be given a second opportunity to retake Siachen.

I came here to see people agreeing that it should be demilitarized but looks like Indians are high on their bravado and willing to lose more lives because of their jingoism.
Carry on and tell the fallen soldiers' mothers that we are brave to die in cold because of stupid reasons.
