Pakistan Looking at Three Option to buy Stealth Aircrafts Including F-35

LM doesn't offer anything without the approval of US Gov,, which is very unlikely to sell the top techs to Pakistan fearing Chinese

Let China field J-20 then US will not have issues in selling few squadrons of F-35s like they sell F-16s in 80s, if US want to keep influence on Pakistan they have to provide some things which Pakistan feel good against their enemy else they will loose influence.

I don't think F-35 fits PAF's requirement of 5th gen frontline fighter, although its very advance plane but still its short legged in many areas for PAF because they cannot field it in good numbers like NATO countries.

Sanctions free 5th gen which fulfilled all PAF operational requirements should be perused western or eastern.

Yes I am---I have been humiliated and degraded on this board a few days ago and not a SINGLE SENIOR MODERATOR @Irfan Baloch @TaimiKhan or othjer moderators---and not even the @WebMaster came to my support---shame on you guys-------and now I have been vindicated----.

But I never thought it would be so quick----ohhhh I love it to see his face rubbed in dirt----
I am ashamed I was away and too busy to come to your rescue

US will decide what Pakistan needs to buy.
F-35 is very expensive. Where the money come from.

If F-35 ever comes it will be similar to F-16s purchase of early 80s.

Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman has said that Pakistan Air Force is in talks with American aircraft maker Lockheed Martin for F-35 Lightning II. He said wtaht PAF is looking at three different option to purchase fifth-generation stealth jet fighter.

This source is not credible plus there has been no official statement from the COAS in this regards and the news you are trying to convey has been a rumor and a very old one.

Talks, media announcements and vague statements do not mean that anything substantial can come out of this.

The F-35 is even further away from the Su-35.

Hi,

Members who are talking about the utility of the F35---please refer to the video posted by @AamirHussein of future air combat on this forum---a pretty lengthy video in detail.

The one about the F22's going into combat and then asking a support aircraft to intervene.

The good thing about the F35 is that all the munitions that the F16 uses will be used by this aircraft.

This proposal is simply a Coupe de Grace----in simple boxing terms---they showed the right but hit with the left.

This proposal is indeed a game changer---this also means that level of commitment amongst the two has gone up and both parties understand very well what is at stake.

Now this proposal may not meet success---the U S may outright deny the purchase---but it has set wheels in motion that will not be turned back just like that.

though the quoted remarks might not be related .... but even then I would like to quote ...

''Gentlemen, this is not the era of nineties, if you don't sell to us, we have several other options available to us now, who are ready and willing to supply us with our requirements''......the very words PAF Chief conveyed to the Americans during his recent visit to Washington and Pentagon

This is not the nineties !

some time some words are meaningful & carry more weight then their face value; I want to believe .... I really want to believe this F-35 news .... but as Johan Elia said

I think the point isn't whether US congress will approve F35 or not.But the point is that all those sceptics who thought that PAF is obsolete with obsolete planes. Those who thought IAF will decimate PAF after buying Rafale. Those who thought future of PAF is only JF17.Those who thought qualitative edge of PAF over IAF can never be restored....

WAKE UP.

In next decade PAF will turn into a major fighting force in not just Asia but whole world.Just wait and watch with belated breath. It is quite clear from what ACM has said that PAF has a clear vision what it needs to acquire.

US will not have issues in selling few squadrons of F-35s like they sell F-16s in 80s,
in 80s US needed pakistani help to fight soviet union in afghanistan. now they don't need you like they needed pakistan in 80s. plus your close cooperation with china makes any deal of F-35 impossible.

The biggest shortcoming of the Pakistan mind........ they don't know how to verify and authenticate......... the whole society has started to piss me off......... the problem for me is that I can't offload so much land within a few years time. It's going to take a decade to do it in a sustained and profitable method, in the meantime, I've limited my exposure to awam! :D

I was in Oman airlines plane today. Literally A very poor babajee who bought 1300 Qatri riyal ticketbegan begging inside the airplane 30 minutes before flight was going to land at lahore. Local Bus style begging and he succeeded in collecting money. Apparently Air hostesses were at their station resting and didnt knew what was happening and he pulled this stunt one more time when plane landed and passenger began to go out of plane by standing at the edge of economy class. . You see Pakistan and its awam has guts to do something so unexpected and succeeding at it that you will scratch your head afterward.

If one reads carefully, they'll easily understand that the 5th gen program is not an immediate concern, heck, it may be many years away from even entering the pipeline. The ACM clearly said the focus right now is JF-17, as it should be (especially with Block-III), and - being the responsible service arm that it is - the PAF will begin looking at its 5th gen options. The fact that there are three additional options on top of the F-35 indicates the PAF has kept its initial net wide, I.e. KFX and TFX could be on the assessment list as well, but they - along with 5th gen in general - is not a prime concern right now. That said, the PAF is now getting ready to set the groundwork for 5th gen.
firstly i would like to thank you for bringing in some common sens in to the thread.

yes there are working on the jf-17 and maturing it. happy days... and there exporting it, even better days.

trying to aquire surpluss old and new f16's to build numbers.older f16 will undergo mlu which reduces the weight by 1000kg- happy days

now the 3 5th gen fighters.f35, j-31 and the tfx. the kfx is a viable option but i dont think they will go for it as south korea is a major US partner and they may/will interviene as the jet contains US parts. just the the t-50 being refused for uzbekistan. is shouth korean but it has US parts so they have in essence a veto power of kfx exports. even the japanese f-3 as it contains a lockheed tri-vectoring thrust vectoring modue

the f35 is not going to happen. the j-31 and the tfx is the quickest and easiest options. what they get is upto the afc

Hi,

They need us more now---it is a matter of stability of the area and contain isis----.

Hi,

Thank you----people don't understand----when it comes to needed weapons----we will find a way to pay.

Now----the slip of the tongue should not be ignored---when he says that air force is active in karachi---it is----and I am going to stop at that.

Secondly----the order to fill for 4 countries----was that a slip of the tongue or intentional----surpirse surprise surprise---and then goes on to state that it will be tough to keep up to fulfill the order----very interesting news.

Sir, though I find myself disagreeing with you on occasions, your attention to details amazes me sometimes.
