Pakistan, ISI "biggest threat" to India & Bangladesh : Bangladesh diplomat

Adviser to Bangladesh's Prime Minister on International Crimes, Wali-ur Rahman, today said Pakistan is an epicentre of terrorism and not only India, but his country has also been a victim of its terror activities.
"Pakistan and ISI have been the biggest threat to us as they keep sending their operatives to India and Bangladesh... ISI is still an epicentre of terror...Not only in these two countries, but they also dispatch their operatives to Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and all over the SAARC countries," Rahman told PTI, on the sidelines of two-day,Megacity Security Conference ; that began here today.
"They are a destabilising force. They tried to destabilise us too, but failed. They set up 101 training camps on our soil to train Indians to fight against Indians. But we pushed them back with the active support of India. We cannot think that Pakistan should use our land for anti-India activities," Rahman, a former Secretary in Bangladesh's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said.
The conference is being attended by policy makers, law enforcement officials, security experts and leading thinkers representing eight different countries. They will share first- hand experience about dealing with security policy in some of world's megacities such as Mumbai, New York, Istanbul, Chicago, Manila, Dhaka, Nairobi and Mexico.
Terming India a friend in true sense, Rahman, an expert on national security and counter-terrorism, said, "Bengalis are very emotional people. Every Bengali is with us, except two political outfits Jamaat-e-Islami and Bangladesh Nationalist Party, who supported ISI in our country."
"But when Sheikh Hasina took over as the Prime Minister of the country in 1996, she got rid of ISI and sent me to Delhi to meet the then Home Secretary Padmanabhan. I followed his advice, made a list of ISI training centres and successfully eliminated them," Rahman said, adding, there may be a few ISI elements active in the country as of now.
Pointing to the helplessness of Pakistan government, Rahman said, "The main plotter of Mumbai attacks is walking freely and we can easily think what kind of position Nawaz Sharif has as Prime Minister there.

Defence News, Pakistan, ISI "biggest threat" to India & Bangladesh : Bangladesh diplomat

So says a country who was formed via terrorism.

Provoked 1975 Sheikh Mujib's family and Bengali nationalist leaders' assassination. Which prolonged decade long military dictatorship in the country. Also BNP JeI are local agents of ISI.

What evidence do you have for such a stupid allegation? Is your "rashsan" still coming from India?

Adviser to Bangladesh's Prime Minister..............If he was just speaking about Bangladesh.....someone can say ok look into matter and guess what he is also speaking on behalf of India......it's not funny.......a Pupit who's rope is shaking someone else.....

whoa
You asked for it, so here it is....Straight from the horse's mouth - none other than your own ex ISI chief, General Assad Durrani.

Former ISI chief Asad Durrani, during a hearing by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, admitted that the ISI funded Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) during the 1991 Bangladeshi general election. The ISI has been allegedly active in Bangladesh whenever the BNP has ruled the country. It has been also alleged of using Bangladesh to logistically and financially support insurgent groups of Northeast India. Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Zabiuddin Ansari revealed that Yasin Bhatkal, chief of Indian Mujahideen, is going undercover in Bangladesh with ISI's help.

He also said that Pakistani diplomatic staff of Bangladesh provided him fake documents like passport. Bangladeshi Home Minister Saharah Khatun said,"Sometimes you find that Pakistan ISI and terrorists operating in this country. Law enforcement agencies have arrested Pak ISI terrorists. It is true that they are there in the country. All the SAARC countries should work together to fight against this menace."

whoa whoa so we have relations with them ........ so are you saying that even now ISI is active in this country when total focus of army, civilians and lets say everyone in pakistan is towards afghanistan or maybe it is a pressure tactic to prevent pakistan from taking recent hangings of opposition leaders to international forums

Bangladesh is not a free country. After its so called independence, it became a slave of India. So whatever Bengali say about Pakistan must be seen as coming from an Indian.

What evidence do you have for such a stupid allegation

Everyone knows these. You must be a dumb person asking ludicrous questions here.

So just after 4 years of a brutal civil war evil ISI convinced the same ppl/traitors who fought against Pakistani ... Sprewed venom against Pak... The ppl who were considered "heroes" in bangladesh to "assassinate mujib n gang?

**** logic.

Bangladesh is like a child that tries to copy its mother or father (India)

Did you see the above evidence I showed? There were growing intolerance in the country. Pakistani agents were destabilizing country by burning factories and protests. Which brought famine in the country. Bhutto even offered big amount of money to Sheikh Mujib so that he reintegrates BD with Pakistan at his stay in Pak in 71. Bhutto even said within 5-10 years BD will be Pakistan again. Who knows Pakistani agents paid the assassins to kill Mujib gang too. And Patriots had no clue who played along.

I don't see how the diplomat is incorrect.

Pakistani military establishment(ISI,etc) has tried to radicalize Bangladeshis and promote jihadist tendencies there just like they did in Pakistan.

The good part is that Bangladesh is a far more progressive society than Pakistan which rejected this narrative of Pakistan and expelled or executed these Pakistani sympathizers and their efforts in Bangladesh(which included setting up terrorist training camps).

The biggest threat to peace and prosperity of South Asia is Pakistan...as evinced by the fact that all the SAARC members bilaterally signed the same agreements that Pakistan blocked at the SAARC summit.

@ These articles were written by the Indians being sponsored by RAW. This has proved false long time before specially the case of BNP.

@ Yes, I fully agree that ISI was active in Bangladesh for their interest which also coinside with our interest. What is our national interest ? To break Seven Sisters from India ! What is Pakistan's interest -to break Seven Sisters from India there by make India weak ?

Everyone knows these. You must be a dumb person asking ludicrous questions here.

@bongbang do you understand what is National Interest ??? First try to understand the meaning of National Interest then come and bongbang here. " Najane kaha se ajate hai ".

@ Who has given you the certificate that "You are a Bangladeshi ?" You are a typical Indian ? I don not find any difference ???

@ All these arguments are comparable with "Cow Dung".

@ There were no Pakistani agents before 1975. All these factories were burned by the RAW agents. There were no opposition political parties in Bangladesh. All Islamic parties were banned. There was only one opposition party (JSD) that too sponsored by India.

@ Famine was due to the random smuggling to India and mismanagement by AL government. And partly due to non-cooperation of USA.

@ Where were the money being offered by Bhutto ?

@ Bhutto can say or dream many things ?
