A section of Turkey’s fans decided to boo the scheduled pre-match minute’s silence before the country’s international friendly match against Greece in Istanbul on Tuesday night.

The two sides played out a forgettable 0-0 draw but the main talking point came before a ball was kicked as loud jeering, whistling and booing was clearly picked up by TV cameras as both sets of players stood solemnly in the centre circle.

The above video, which emerged on Twitter last night, appears to show sections of the crowd inside the Basaksehir Fatih Terim Stadium refusing to honour the 129 victims were killed in last Friday’s horrific events in Paris.

Some reports are suggesting that through the boos and jeers the chants of ‘Allahu Akbar’ – the Islamic phrase meaning ‘God is greater’ – could be heard coming from the stands during the proposed silence.

‘Our fans should have behaved during the national anthems and during the one minute silence,’ Turkey manager Fatih Terim said after the match.

‘Greece is our neighbour. Today is world neighbours day, but our fans didn’t behave like neighbours in this match.’

Turkey qualified in third place in their group and will be heading to Euro 2016 in France next summer.

It shouldn't have been done but I understand our fans and honestly, I don't give a f*ck what world thinks of Islam. That's miserable.
I expect the same solidarity shown by the western part of world for the victims of terrorism, victims be it Iranian, be it Turkish, be it Pakistani, or a Indian and Chinese, be it anybody. Otherwise they can moan as much as they want that they are being booed for their hypocrisy.

Everyone knows about the hypocrisy of the world and mainstream media on terrorist attacks' location. It clearly has a huge difference if 40 people are killed in ME by a suicide bomber or in Paris, same as solidarity reactions, lighting candles, singing songs. For example, we can compare reactions to Beirut bombing or Nigeria bombing last night with Paris attack.

But that doesn't justify booing for terror attack victims, all of which were citizens like us, and had a typical life like us. They should not be involved in this.

Their muslim brethren ,the Bosnians tried to do the same but the Irish drowned those pathetic monkeys :

"Allah Akbar !, Bosnia !"..................Irish:"Booooooooooooooooo!" lol

Oh yeah,Ireland won 2-0 ,will go to Euro 2016,Bosnia stays at home, more time for them to go to mosque.

Turks have the opportunity to create their on pan turkic union....
Sir,
The problem with Turks is that they are residing in an ultra advanced continent like Europe where big powers like France and Germany won't let another European country challenge them especially a Muslim majority .
Turkey is only going to isolate themselves with its recent developments . I don't blame their ideology , but I feel its more closer to Middle eastern rather than the European one .

And then you expect World to believe Islam is the religion of peace and not every Muslim is a terrorist.

No we don't want the entire world to think that whether or not Islam is a religion of Peace. Because till we have an idiots like you, no one would completely understand the true meaning of Islam. Now off course you would be thinking that why have I called you an idiot? That's because of actions of few People about whom neither you or I know whether they even Muslims, you are criticizing the Religion. Now, I have to understand whether you have a problem with Islam or with these People you boohooing during that minute silent. If you truly consider of yourself that you are a human and that you wanna speak for the entire humanity, you will have to understand and their point of view. Why did they do that, what provoked them? I can tell you why, because their was a similar kind of an attack in Ankara, no one protested anywhere in the world, no where I could find People having a 1 minute silence. No one changed their dp's to Turkish flags. The entire middle east has been destroyed, but I haven't seen a one person standing in a large gathering and requesting People for a one minute silence. Now that's the reason of their boohooing, if you don't like it, than you should attend more gathering of RSS in India, that's where you belong, they will teach you the true meaning of Hinduism, if you don't like Islam.

Following post demonstrates precisely what's wrong with Muslims. You Boo innocent people's death; blame West.
You blow yourselves up chanting Allah O Akbar killing again INNOCENT people; blame someone else. This is PRECISELY
the problem. You can't solve a problem without identifying one. Unless of course you don't want to solve it to begin with.

I doubt many are interested in understanding the true meaning of Islam or any other religion for that matter. Sure, it always actions of 'few people' that wreak havoc among innocents. Tell that to some dumb liberal yank. I live in Pakistan. I've seen how 'educated' people showered flowers on Mumtaz Qadri, I've seen rallies in Qadri's favor, I've seen allegations on Malala, I've seen killings among Shi'ites and Wahhabis, I've seen TTP apologists on National TV, I've seen both sects abusing Prophet's companions and Imams, I've seen people praising Bin Laden. Don't bullshit me.

Irrespective of different reaction towards Ankara and Paris, one must understand INNOCENT people died. That's all what matter for me. Middle East's destroyed because Middle Easterners allowed it to. It's as simple as that. I wouldn't expect an extremist to understand that though who suggests me to join RSS just because I won't boo the dead. I'm fine with Sufism - that's more or less non-Muslim for a Wahhabi though. I don't have to belong to Hinduism to be considered Wajib-al-Qatal anyway; being Non-Wahhabi is more than enough.

an idiots like you,

I suggest you mind your language. I might have to report you should you engage in a personal attack next time.

The Europeans believe in the freedom of expression of individuals and the will to exercise that particular right, therefore the Turkish fans are entitled to conduct their behavior in how they see fit:) Has Charlie Hebdo done a satirical piece on the Paris attacks? Why are these cockroaches silent on this issue, when they had the audacity to mock the Russian victims of Sinai.

Pathetic

very very sad. Turkey is a country I absolutely love. I fear a new, more radical population will rise there.

And how many protest marches did you take out when 100s of Syrians were killed in chemical attacks by Asad?
