Argentine-Israeli Kfir negotiations held indefinitely

China will not export cutting edge system onboard for JF-17 export to argentina. Argentinian are better off with Israel Kfir.

China now treasure Sino-British r/s more.

true that. no one cares about Las Malvinas besides the Argentines and I am willing to bet even the average Argentine doesn't even care. it's more about pride then anything.

That is arguably true for the British as well though. If someone other than Thatcher had led the State they may have easily not gone to war in 84'. The Argentinians picked their battle extremely poorly.

But either way no real attempts will be made now, maybe in a decade or two later.

Why can't Argentina build its own fighter plane? Argentina is the whitest country in South America. There is no racial difference between French and Argentines. French can build Rafales.

How many total KFIRs can be brought into service, like how many are there in other airforces?

what need does Argentina need for such fighers?? a war with it's latin neighbors is near 0% the only reason they would want such fighters is to intimidate the Falklands or even strike them in the future.

the falklands are used as an escape goat for the crappy economy and government policies.

a dozen or evena few dozen advance fighters will not help Argentina. a change in government and it's policies is the only solution

in a long shot they could go for Gripen NGs that Brazil is buying/making, but those will cost near $100 million a piece

I think that selling Gripen to Argentina is a dead end.
Several U.K. critical components there, and they will not get an export license.

Let's hope the PAF uses this as an opportunity (however small) to regroup and offer a truly compelling package with the JF-17. For one thing having a unit available for test flights (ideally twin-seat) as well as the twin-seat model would help, but the PAF should push hard with Block-III. PAF should strongly emphasize how the JF-17 (Blk-3) can be equipped with modern A2A and A2G munitions across the board, e.g. HOBS AAM, PGB, LGB, BVRAAM, ARM, etc. It might not hurt for Pakistan to develop a MTCR (<300km) compliant ALCM for export as well.

Isn't Ra'ad exactly that ?

argentine have no money.. period... kfir makes sense in short term as they have mirage experience. however kfir have absolutely no range to project up to malvinas.
in terms of electronics suites etc, latest kfir suite is far ahead of jf-17.

With their crappy economy, who the hell inducted them in G-20 when Poland is developing leap & bound.
Well, IAI Kfir only short point is no FBW & older Airframe neither Its very ahead.

(a ) grippen NG deal is conditional for the clearance of US export permission for its american engine and
(b) U.K will naver allow to sell the grppen to Argentina bacase About 30% of the Grippen JAS-39E/F will be British, from the ejection seats to the radar, landing gear, and a number of electronic systems.

Kfirs were retired from Israeli service in the late 1990s.
Argentina’s Mirage III/ V/ “Nesher” fighters were originally bought second-hand from Israel and Peru, and A-4R "FIGHTINGHAWK" were bought from USA and these efforts were for the stop gap arrangment to maintain the bulk of their jet fleet.
However the relations between USA and Britain are not ideal but Obama administration is not about to sell Argentina jet fighters. British diplomacy has already worked to delay Argentina’s proposed Super Etendard modernization, and also scuttled a reported deal to buy 16 second-hand Mirage F-1M fighters from Spain.
The most dangerous Kfir-related sale, of Gabriel 3 anti-ship missiles, would make Britain an outright enemy of Israel’s. That won’t happen.
The question is whether Britain can pressure Israel to block the Kfir fighter sale – or have it blocked by the Americans, who control the J-79 engines.

Still, the Kfirs are better with AESA radars,Israeli EW suites and avionics.Plus, they're extensively MLU-ed jets,I think most AF's in the world would pick them over JF17's.

Kafir was retird by IAF in 1990's. The Israel Aircraft Industries Kfir is based on a modified French Dassault Mirage 5 airframe, with US licenced the General Electric J79 turbojet engine.
Kafir's combat radius is a bit short, and it would take a brave Kfir pilot to face in single combat with the RAF Eurofighter Typhon (petroling over the Falksisland.)

No disrespect but i guess it would have to be equally brave to face a Eurofighter in a JF17 also.
