Muslim student arrested in US after home-built clock mistaken for bomb

Did you see the case he brought it in? And why did it go off in a different class than the one he initially showed it in, causing a disruption? There was enough probable cause from a legal standpoint for the police to take action, which it did, correctly. Further investigation cleared him, so the charges were dropped, as they should be, correctly.

That is not a hoax-bomb. And disruption in a class is not a hoax-bomb . Maybe the teacher should punish him for class disruption, not the police under "hoax-bomb" charges .

Kid brings an electronics project to school, he gets arrested<---- to be duly noted, that the kid is a brown muslim guy.
Take a gun to a movie theater or high school, kill dozens, claim psychological problems, yea man, systems work extremely well in USA.

No, he brought it in a fortified case with metal bands and showed it to his science teacher, and then set the alarm to go off in a different class. Why? He is not all that innocent either. What happened to him was absolutely correct from a legal standpoint.

Science projects are known to the teachers and stay in the lab or that class.

Once the matter is reported to the police as required by school policy, then it is up to the police to determine probable cause for arrest, which they did, correctly.

It's not a bomb.
It's not a hoax-bomb.
Where is the legal standpoint for that? :what:
They let him go after they confirmed that the clock was not a bomb.
Better safe than sorry, because it's not new for extremists to use kids.

A clock is not a hoax-bomb, and there's no another legal standpoint.

The purpose of someone who made a hoax-bomb is cause panic.

If you panic because he's muslim, it's your problem.
He repeated several times that it was a clock. He had no intention of cause panic or made a hoax bomb.

They let him go after they confirmed that the clock was not a bomb.

My opinion would be exactly the same if Ahmed was an adult, that is not issue.

The school and the police have done nothing wrong here from a legal standpoint. They acted in the best interests of safety as they are required to do.

how they haven't wrong here ? if this was a bomb/false bomb then the kid surly would not show it to his teacher , he himself shown it to his teacher proved that there were no intention by the kid but the Islamophobic mind of teacher and police made a simple gear as bomb.

The problem here is the woeful lack of science education and understanding in America today. The high school teachers and local police were obviously too stupid to deal with anything the least bit technical. A tragedy for America. Since I am 70 years old, I can coast outta here without having to deal with this problem of congenital stupidity all around me. But it is frustrating.

That’s fair enough they made a mistake, but then realizing they made a mistake and still threatening him with suspension and even police prosecution is out of order and before you say it’s been dropped would it have been as easily dropped without the media coverage?

It’s hasn't been all negative from this incident lots of reactions from Americans have been sympathetic and positive .

He showed it to his science teacher first, which was okay, then took it to the English class and set up a timer to go off in the middle of it, which was not okay. Why do you suppose he did that, and what were the teachers supposed to do with his actions?

Once police are called, it is up to them to determine probable cause, which in this case they had, to arrest him. All correctly done. Further investigation revealed that it was just a clock and there were no grounds to hold him or press charges. Again, all correctly done.
