I fail to see how this investment of 46 Billion USD affects INDIA ?

Most of this investment will go in to build Rail and Road Infrastructure for the " Economic Corridor " and a smaller portion will go towards construction of energy Projects.

Why should India feel threatened by these Projects that aim to bolster the Economy of Pakistan.
Because it goes through Azad Kashmir, that's only our problem.

All he is saying that Pakistan has started all the wars and could misdirect this funding from China towards India. There is no denying all the military hardware, submarines you are acquiring from China are directed at us. It is not insecurity but a word of caution to be prepared for this new development.

A good example is- It is similar to the rocket launchers that Taliban has in its possession which requires new strategy to deal with them. They claim they shot down your helicopter with their new weapon which killed quite a number of people including some foreign diplomats. Would you be not worried to fly heli's in those Taliban infested areas?

Finally some sane post with a member trying to argue with logic, THANKS YOU MAN!! i was getting tired of posting troll posts myself. :)

Anyway, i am sorry but i do not agree with you. Now where does he mentions about military procurements. The message is clearly about the 45 billion dollar investment what still is just an agreement. Thankfully it is not an official GoI statement as that would have been much more embarrassing, still, coming from a retired army general it do sounds a bit strange.

Here we go again. You guys from India will NEVER change or even read through someone's statement in details. Have you ever created a strategy across the globe for a multi-national organization, the WB or the IMF or an entire country's system? I don't get that 1% from your post. But yet, you are trying to sound like the Chief Economist of India, amazing what one billion people connected through the internet can do. They can derail every single thread in the entire globe by sounding like experts!! Just for the future reference, when you are reading my post, try to see my point. I don't write to do propaganda for Pakistan like you guys do for India. I am just writing to state the facts.

India and Pakistan's economies have NO comparison as the size of the Indian economy is about 29 times bigger than Pakistan so let's understand that.

Second, whether India grows to 7% or 22%, its economic system is entirely independent of Pakistan's, and vis-a-vis. Not every conversation requires an India - Pakistan comparison. In some of the things, India, due to her size, population and market at this point in time, is way ahead of Pakistan and will always remain much ahead.
Having said that, now Pakistan's economy is much smaller, but so is the population. She has to feed and bring up their middle class which is 4 times smaller than India's. So what they can achieve with mere 4-5%, India, due to its size and population, has to achieve with 8-9%. That's just a fact.

And the project won't take 15 years. This is a 5-7 year project and you can count on it. I've been monitoring progress around some of other Chinese projects and these guys are building stuff at a much faster pace than a lot of nations. Plus, the cash infusion, job growth, real estate development around the trade route will start to happen in a year or so. A couple of million jobs, in construction, engineering and all other areas, with the cash inflow will be more than enough to jump start the economy.

In the next 5 years, Pakistan will become a competition to India's educated labor. There is no doubt about it. No one's saying that India would lose all the money and investments to Pakistan, that's a crazy idea. But India will lose about $ 10-20 billion over time. That's probably nothing for India, but for Pakistan, it would be additional icing on the cake. Add pass through revenue through the trading corridor, it would really take Pakistan's economy to the top fifteen. Its a 7-10 year game at this time.

LOL, WTH does the first part mean? So the Indians will fire bullets and shells in a conflict and the Pakistanis will fire the Chinese dollars they are getting????:hitwall::omghaha:

And then you contradict yourself in the very next line by outlining submarines and military hardware purchases from China towards India? lol, yea, those are towards India and should be. Every country has a right to defend themselves, why would it be different in Pakistan's case???

I don't understand anything from your post. We ALL know these issues exist and we all know there are over 10 major and about 15 intermediate project in place right now, which will take care of the electric production issue in the next 3-5 years.

Mind you, the same issue didn't stop India from growing in the mid 90's......? And Pakistan is sustaining a 4% growth rate easily and it'll start to increase over the next one to two years. Their defense spending is already at $ 8 billion this year WITHOUT counting the money for the Ops in FATA against Taliban and Indian trained terrorists......so that about $ 10-12 billion military budget already, as is. So why do you see it so hard to get to $ 18-20 billion over the next 5 years when they are already sustaining a good growth rate with $ 18 billion in their savings account, expected to be $ 20-21 billion by December of this year? That's NOT counting any investment from the Chinese.
The Pakistanis JUST dropped their interest rates to be the lowest in 40 years. That would increase local business borrowing and additional projects would be started by the local businessmen. So everything is pointing to Pakistan actually becoming a bigger economy and in top 20 in the next 5-7 years. These are real projections

We will of course keep track of economic developments in Pakistan
