Is 1500hp MTU engine the same one used last Leopard A7s. Is it well enough for the mobility of ALTAY or is 1800hp needed for a better performance? I remember the TUMOSAN's engine will also be 1500hp but it was said before as 1800hp.

Last photo of ALTAY MBT with better quality...

It started to look like something, thx for sharing. :)

Probably Turkey will not be able to export it for next 5 years as is use German engine. but after that, im pretty sure that, many countries would like to choose it.Turkey main policy is to offer German quality and CHinese price.. once other countries use other technologies of Turkey, they will have more confident to choose more complicated products, such as corvette, Submarine, fighter jet in the future..
Turkish products arent as cheap as you think, T-129 is quite expensive for exsample.

I meant compare to US and EUropean price.. for example, one Puma IFV cost 10 million euro for Germany, but one Turkish Altay Tank is estimated to cost 5.5 million Euro, imagine the difference between Leo 2A7 and ALtay Tank..

Procurement: Getting Pumped With Pumas
Yeter ki sen iste.. ;)
imagine the price reduction, after Turkey develop its own engine and energy discount Turkey is going to recieve after becoming a hub of gas pipelines from Iran, Irak, Azerbaijain(TANAP-also from Kazakhistan and Turkmenistan) and Russia.. Also nuclear plants and oil pipelines from Irak and so on...
Energy is the main thing increase the cost. Turkey has the labor cost as CHine but having 4 times more energy prices, push investors kinda away from itself..

Procurement: Getting Pumped With Pumas
November 16, 2007: Germany has ordered 405 Puma infantry fighting vehicles (IFV)[PHOTO], at a cost of about $10.4 million each. Two years ago, the German army received the first 30 Pumas. This was to let the troops evaluate the vehicle and get used to it. The army wanted 1,100 Pumas to replace the 2,000 Cold War era (1970s) Marder IFVs. But it appears the army will have to settle for less than half that number. The troops like it, but the tax payers are put off by the co

The cost of world's leading main battle tanks varies between USD 2-11 million. Each Altay Tank costs to Turkey USD 5.4 million and Turkey plans to build 1000 main battle tanks in the future. This means that total cost is USD 5.4 billion.

Do you think it is possible decrease of unit cost after a few hundred tanks ? Or 1000 tanks ?

Hmm, well ok, as far as i know T-129 is much more expensive than WZ-10 which is one of the major obstacles in Pakistan ordering T-129.

50 billion $ investment from China make a T129 contract with Pakistan impossible, I guess.

@xxxKULxxx

I would change number 2 with 3.

they have changed that ugly head lamps with something futuristic bit...:-)
