Major breakthrough on naval reactor + propulsion system

Mate here in Pakistan things works different :). I respect what ever you have said but here we have altogether a different mind set and approach of how we make things work which if we compare with others it seems weird but it works for us for more then half century and we got results.

as I said, it is not just procuring it. When you have a nuclear submarine you have to pay 1 billion for that and add another 1 billion for keeping it in standby. And it takes 7-8 years just to build facilities even if you buy ready made equipments , and another 5 years for getting trained.

Time to Salute Gen Rafi

Congrate to all Pakistanis on this land mark success.

dont make fool

Have heard from a very good source, that the miniaturized reactor/naval propulsion system and the various electrical systems have recently completed a key testing and reliability test, brothers assisted with various technical assistance.

It is all coming on line - with a version of S3, being further developed with MIRV the first SLBM.

Congratulations to the whole nation, for the effective birth of Pakistan Navy Strategic Force Command.
NSFC and our Second Strike Capability.

Pakistan Paindabad.
Dont make fool

we are working on it , since Mushi era ... so its quite a big time ... PN is no fool to work on something that they cant Achieve ... but i guess its problem with Indians , they cant digest things so easily ...

Since the Arihant is a technology demonstrator (Pakistan centric, i.e; missiles of 700 km range), Pakistan will come up with something similar (most probably better) and (Indian centric, with a few thousand km range Missiles).

Amazing development,i still remember when musharaf in 2006-07 said that we had the capability to develop naval reactor for submarine.
@Rafi

Any idea when this SSBN is going to start sea trails.

Have some idea, but we will get semi-official confirmation - when the Defense think tanks decide to leak the information.

any idea how much will be required to make an artifical island? as it would increase maritime boundary...
china is making a lot of them...

As i've said before, Pakistan's procurement and construction happens at a very rapid pace compared to India. But of course, why would you know that?

Pakistani program is strategic in nature and eventually envisions full spectrum deterrence - with both strategic full first strike and second strike and even third strike capability, and also SSN, long term.

10 years .. shart laga lo

Indian keep falling into the trap of reinventing the wheel and that is why they keep failing despite more resources. The news about 8 submarines from China and this rumour about reactor is not a coincidence. The hull or the kit for the hull for the Pakistani nuke sub will be of Chinese origin, which will be mated to Pakistani reactor and missiles. There is no international treaty that prohibits that. In fact France and Brazil has similar arrangements. Further, after some delays, the Ship Lift and Transfer System at Karachi Shipyard, which itself is nearly a million dollar project is underway, which will allow for much quicker construction of ships and subs. At least two of the subs will not come with AIP engine and will be fitted with Pakistani reactors which will give a timeline of operationalizing a fully loaded Nuke sub of 3 to 5 years. Not the 25 year Indians took to get their Arirhant.
