MI-35 deal between Moscow And Islamabad politically approved!

If anybody who can make a difference is reading this here is a bit of advice: After acquiring these helicopters please start an indigenous program like the South African Super Hind program...these machines are amazingly adaptable and rugged and will give you many years of good service. I have seen one of the Super Hinds in action at an airshow in SA and it was breathtaking. Look up a South African mercenary called Neall Ellis who, during the civil war in Sierra Leone, single handedly (without a co pilot) managed to keep the capital, Freetown, from being overrun by RUF rebels by flying a Hind.

Modern attack helicopters are designed to be small, fast and agile to improve survivability and lethality(more maneuverable).. Look at MI-28H, it better optimized than the Mil Mi-24(MI-35) for the attacking role.. By designing single crew KA-50/52, russians attained more compactness.. Now every attack helicopters in the world are dedicated only for attack or ground support..

Mi35s can do what Apaches and Cobras can do on the battlefield. But they offer troop carrying, which is the need of the hour for our Ops in the Afghan Pakistan border area.

If you think Apaches will last long on the battle field without adequate air cover, you are mistaken. Modern short range active guided/IR guided missiles will make a mockery out of them. Just because it is Apache or ATAK or Euro Tiger doesn't make it impregnable. Apaches have ruled where there was not such threat.

Mi35 is actually for those who can afford to operate it not for those who can afford to buy it.

Our Kilo class submarines, 3/4th of the air force and the entire operational armor corps stand testimony to that.

Having said Mi35 has never been in bad press for any major problems.

You dont have any idea about their maintenance cost.Su30MKI once a 200 crore fighter is now have more than 400 crore because of its expensedue to maintenance.
Dont worry you will get that in near future since you inducted their platform.
No I do .. Seems like bad planning and decisions from indian side... That end up ballooning costs in almost every deal.. Be it rafale (yet to be sober after like a decade)... The arty deal that has increased like 300 times and remains to be signed and so on...

As for buying russian platforms we could have bought mig-29s and su-27s in the 90s.. (Yeah Russians did offer them to us).. Today the relations are getting better.. Bilateral visits by military chiefs, heads of states, defence ministers, port calls .. Even small symbolic navy drills etc..

Dont know who is hidden enemy. But if you meant us then you are absolutely mistaken.According to our GoI MI 35 is outdated for our use .That is why we selected Apache for that purpose. And our LCH is more than enough for any operation in future.
A few MI 35 is not an issue for us.
India uses the old soviet era mi-25 variant.. There is a helluva difference between a heli produced in 80s and one that is produced in 2014... Just like there is a giant difference between a f-16 fom 80s and a recent block 52+.

Already declaring victory, havent we seen these operations in the past and celebate victory and then these terrorists come back.
Indians are nay Sayers, but it is clear to those who want to see without hidden agenda.

Ask to Iranians. They will clear your doubts. We have enough experience with Russians. They will make you to criticise your own govt by their own arts works like shooting up spares cost etc.
This experience made us to formulate the life cycle cost for Rafale deal .
Unlike your purchasing. We are purchasing systems including the ToT.
So a good chunk of deal will return to our own market.
I dont know your claims about their offering in 90s .Please provide some link or source.Considering your relation with US and West at that time
I say that would be a weird claim.

Good you should increase relation with Russia.MI 35 is good for dealing with terrorists. We also have MI 35.
But for us it is almost outdated. That is why we selected Apache.

Wrong. We also have Mi 35 Hind and upgraded with most advanced Russian tech .But for our forces and GoI MI 35 is out dated .And we selected Apache (only in limited numbers)
For topnotch ops.
Real fact now we have a fulll grown Heli industry that is why
our Govt cancelled almost entire foreign heli deals.
Except Apache and some others ,rest will be sourced from our own industry.
