Americas Antares explodes seconds after Launch, destroying Cygnus CRS-3 Spacecraft destined for ISS

If he was IDIOT you proved yourself a bigger IDIOT than him :disagree:
Someone had to do it. Your reply was just boring.

great and how big the budget is from America vs Russia? Also proton is about satellites and unmanned missions, this antaras missle is supposed to bring food to the ISS which america is planning to be independent of from russia. This is what america gets for not using russias help, god punished them
lol Indian crybaby is mad that i rediculate his favorite nation, do you see americans defending india if i would bash india? nope, you have sick slave mentality dude
Everyone has failures. There was no need for you to harp on it. As for America's independence, they have SpaceX. Remember?

For people who do not know about the rocket and why the Americans use modified Russian Engines, Here is a beautiful documentary of how the US accepted Russian superiority in Rocket engine technology and started using the engines once used in ICBM's pointed at themselves :

Please do not laugh at the failure of hard work of people.. be it Russians or Americans.

tell that to america media

this what they said just some hours before in their Russia bashing tone, but karma served them right

International Space Station Dodges Russian Space Junk

There is nothing wrong with the article, that was indeed a space junk resultant from a previous collision.
they called it Russian and make a huge story out of that. When you heard one time in western media about american space junk? never, they just say space junk from an old american project blabla

get on this level and then you can criticize them

The media in most countries tend to be nationalist and biased. They tend to toe the government political line..
Suddenly superior technology from another nation which they themselves use become junk.
Its better not to belittle organizations who employ hard working scientists..some of who are from your own country just because a silly reporter used a sensationalist headline.

I've watched that doco before, it's quite propagandistic to be honest and there is at least one BIG mistake in it.

At the beginning of the doco (2:30 in the video), the speaker says that in the West, engines using this kind of operating principle (=staged combustion cycle, which they call "closed cycle" in the doco) were thought to be impossible.

This is completely false for 2 reasons:

1) "Closed cycle" engines were being made in the west since the beginning of the 1960s, by MBB in Germany.

2) Americans have been making and utilizing "closed cycle" engines at least since 1981, when the first Space Shuttle flew.

So no, "closed cycle" engines were most certainly NOT thought to be impossible by rocket scientists in the west.
