Pashtuns seemed to dress differently back then. Their clothes look more similar to Baloch than their signature shalwar kameezes nowadays. Like these guys for example;

I think its more of old design of shalwar kameez rather than different dress. Here is an old picture of khattak warrior,

In this thread i will share tidbits of history of Pashtuns/Afghans. Here Afghan is synonymous with Pashtun, and it also includes those who have lost pashto but identified themeselves as pathans or pashtuns . Word Pathan might also be used but i chose Afghan as it is also the most common word for pashtuns in historical sources and records. The articles and pictures would be generalized and wont be only from single school of thought or an ideology.
