Ready to join hands with Mayawati if Lalu mediates: Mulayam Singh Yadav

Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh yadav on Wednesday said that he is ready to join hands with his arch-rival and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati if RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav mediates in this regard.

“If Lalu is ready to mediate, then I will consider joining hands with Mayawati,” SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav said.

The SP chief was responding to Lalu Prasad Yadav's recent suggestion that Mulayam Singh Yadav and Maywati should also joined hands in Uttar Pradesh to defeat the BJP in the same way as he has allied with his bitter foe Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (U) in Bihar.

The coming together of two traditional arch-rivals can mark a new beginning in the caste-driven politics of Uttar Pradesh.

Ending weeks of speculation, RJD chief Lalu Prasad and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar last week came together and launched a joint campaign for the August 21 by-election to 10 assembly seats in Bihar.

The two former chief ministers shared stage after nearly 23 years, marking the beginning of a new phase in the politics of the state.

Lalu attacked the NDA govt and took digs at Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing a rally at Hajipur with Nitish Kumar.

The two leaders also attacked LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan and called him an opportunist for allying with the BJP.

Lalu also hoped that Mulayam Singh Yadav and Maywati also joined hands in Uttar Pradesh to defeat the BJP.

Nitish Kumar, who had parted ways with Lalu in 1994 and succeeded in dethroning him in Bihar in 2005 in alliance with BJP, said the Narendra Modi government at the Centre knows that it cannot fulfil the tall promises it has made and will resort to spreading religious passion to cling to power.

"They can run government. They cannot run the country. Did 'achchhe din (good days)' come?" he asked, referring to BJP's slogan during elections.

"Achchhe din will never come. But they have come for some people in BJP. In fact, their 'apne din (own days)' have come," said Kumar, who split with BJP last year over his opposition to Modi's elevation as prime ministerial candidate of BJP, and quit as chief minister after his party JD(U) was routed in the recent Lok Sabha polls.

BJP, meanwhile, played down the coming together of the two regional leaders.

JD(U), RJD and Congress have formed a 'grand alliance' to defeat the BJP in the bypoll.

It was in 1991 Lok Sabha polls that Lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar were last seen together in campaigning. Nitish Kumar, who had contested from Barh constituency then, had lost.

Their alliance was announced on July 30 and their leaders said the move was necessary to strengthen secular forces and to defeat communal parties.

JD(U) and RJD, which parted ways in 1994, came together after the BJP swept the recent Lok Sabha polls in Bihar.

Ready to join hands with Mayawati if Lalu mediates: Mulayam Singh Yadav

Lalu + Nitish ------------> To Stop Modi.

Now Mulayam + Maya --------------> To Stop Modi.

Even in Bengal Communists cosying up to Mamata to stop Modi.

2014 has done one thing to India which never happened in last 67 years, If there was some misconception of IDEOLOGY earlier, they have been removed all together, Now chor-chor coming together to retain POWER. There was never anything called IDEOLOGY.

Thats like me declaring that i would join hands with you to defeat @WebMaster if @Armstrong mediates. Not happening guyz!! Lolzz

1) BJP would still win in UP as Mulayam Singh's son's poor performance is reason enough.
2) About a month or 2 back MS made some really derogatory remarks about Mayawati.Mr Yadav had said at a rally: “Main use kya kahun samajh mein nahin aata... kunwari kahun, shrimati kahun, ya behen kahun (I don’t know if I should call her (Ms Mayawati) a spinster, a married woman or just sister).”
I dont think that its going to be an easy "hand shake" for Mulayam Singh and Mayawati.

Nice... this needs to happen throughout India. All the anti-BJP parties should come together & form a grand alliance to fight BJP. How things have come full circle... there was a time in late 70s when all parties came together to take on the grand old party. This time it's other way around... another 30 years of BJP rule is guaranteed!

I wasn't religious but .. somehow I am getting inclined towards the right. Earlier I used to identify myself just a Jaat .. but now I started feeling proud of my Sanatan roots !!! FTW ... A Proud Hindu here !!!

Same here! I was never religious, even now I consider myself an Atheist! But I am very proud to be a "Cultural" Hindu!

Caste/subcaste have absolutely no relevance in our society! I am sure somebody came up with all those castes just to keep us all divided.

Would like to see every Hindu/Buddhist/Jain/Sikh from every region believe the same though!

This shows how hindutva is picking up.the enemies forming a group to counter Modi and BJP itself shows their voter base is receding every day.
Only two parties should be there in India.
1)Center of Right (BJP)
2) Far Right!
These left and regional parties should be squashed totally ,
Not to forget Congress Mukth Bharat the Head of Thieves. :D

Yogi Adityanath Rocked The PARLIAMENT TODAY WITH HIS SPEECH!
He single handedly massacred the whole opposition and left them speechless to his questions.
He is right Hindus should prepare themselves to fight if the Administration is biased always.Time for Hindu Rasthra has come!

A Hindu Shia Unity Maha sammelan should be organized on priority bases. It is the demand of time.
It is being done. :)

@HariPrasad - Lucknow. But it is covert, and there is no sammelan with that name...yet. But there are plans to that effect. In Western UP (for some strange reason) the conflict of the ME has cast a shadow. The Shias are sometimes at the receiving end from you know who. Unfortunately the Mulayam Brigade is also trying to court them! A large chunk of the Muslim vote that went to BJP was Shia.

When did you get released from Zoo ?

I have two problems with your Hindu Rastra
1. India is a multi-religious society so other people would be Secondary citizen .
2. In Hindu religion itself, will it be not race to prove a 'better Hindu' like happening in Pakistan.

Why nitpik one comment out of context and try to make it an issue?

BTW what are the prospects of BJP in Bihar now that JD(U) and RJD + Congress(I) have teamed up.

So,Changing the secular character of a nation is not a 'issue' in your eye.
Let me tell you , Secularism is part of basic structure of constitution i.e. it can not be change even with constitutional amendment under article 367.

let's wait for 10 seats bypoll state election being conducted shortly.

Because Bihar is a swing state. Every person is highly politicized than any of us here.

What is your problem with Hindu Rasthra?Multi religious yes arent other nations around the world multi religious yet they are christian and islamic countries, so what is your problem if india becomes hindu rasthra?
2.In all of bharat history hindus never persecuted other religions as islam and christianity did.
How do you know we will be in a race to prove a better hindu as in pakistan?
the reason for problems in pakistan is they think they are arabs and that is why they refuse their identity There ancestors were hindus so they try to be better muslims than arabs.
We have no such problems.

So,Changing the secular character of a nation is not a 'issue' in your eye.

If secularism means putting down hindus and lifting up muslims then i dont like such secularism. We had enough if they dont change we will bring the change by "ANY MEANS"!

Screw secularism, Only hindus have the burden of secularism in India, while rest never follow it, why should we bear their burden of secularism?
