In very near future Vietnam and Israel will get a serious upgrade.

Argentina' submarine fleet equal to that of Israel (Dolphin and Dolphin AIP: 212 precursor) and the Netherlands!?

Doesn't israel by now have 5 Dolphins

Just >9< points for the Walrus !?!
Walrus-class submarines are solely operated by the Royal Netherlands Navy (RNLN). They are considered as one of the most advanced non-nuclear attack submarines in the world.
Walrus-Class Submarines - Naval Technology

On Monday 13 May 2013 the Life Extension Program (LEP) for Walrus class submarines has officially started.

During a meeting at the location of the Royal Dutch Navy in Den Helder (the Netherlands), commodore Hans Lodder and Sytze Voulon of Imtech signed the execution order. This order is a follow up of an engineering project of submarines which are about 20 years old. The objective of the Walrus class submarines LEP is to prolong their service life to at least 2025 and to increase their operability in coastal waters.

@500 : There is something wrong (I don't know what) in your rationale for assigning points, if India's underwater force ranks 6th. All I can say is that India is woefully short of submarines, and needs to at least triple its size, given the size of our surface fleet.

Maybe you should also consider each nation's needs. I mean, since India has a long coastline and oceanic area to protect, even if we had twice as many subs, during war they would all be needed to defend, and very few would be available for offense. OTOH, if Israel had 15 subs, they would have more than enough for their needs.

So if you want to know how effective the fleet is for that country, you will have to take such factors into account. Like @Manticore said, a good way to start would be to divide it by the length of the coastline. Other factors include the size and nature of the surface fleet - the bigger those are, the more subs are needed for each task force. India's carrier and escorts need one or two subs permanently with them.

Your right, I'll upgrade to 12 points. :ashamed:

Cool, I checked Air force thread as well, you're doing a good job, care to make 2020s estimations like you did in other thread ? how much you think 6 type 214s would effect the rank of Turkey ?

I bet 6 214 will replace 6 209-1200. Then rank will grow to 164. South Korea will get 3 additional 2014 so their rank will grow to 165. So once again SK and Turkey will be about equal. France will replace 2 Rubis with 2 Barracudas, thus they are going to grow to about 174. India will get 5 additional Scorpene class submarines including 1 AIP. So they are going to grow to 225.

So 2020 rank remains the same:

US
Russia
China
UK = Japan
India
France
South Korea = Turkey

214s will begin to replace Atılay class(209-1200) in 2015.

What about Pakistan with 6 Yuan-class diesel-electric submarine (SSK) along with AIP

the INS Tanin was delivered to the Israeli Navy in May 2012.The INS Rahav is scheduled to arrive in Israel sometime in 2014 after sea trials and weapons system integration. In February 2012, Germany and Israel also issued a contract for a sixth AIP-equipped Dolphin submarine, which is currently being constructed at the HDW shipyard.

u should do a "tank force" too.

Sorry I am male.

6 Yuan with AIP will add 75 points. If u subtract 2 Agosta 70 (14 points) which may quit service then its +61 points or 105 overall.

In may 2012 it was just launched. The delivery was planned in 2013 but then switched to summer 2014.

@500 doesn't France have 6 Rubis ?
Yes, thank u, I corrected.

An improved Kilo=Walrus,Scorpene,Gotland?? :o::o: :astagh:
Whats wrong? :unsure:

I think that poster meant to say an Improved Kilo is NOT equal to said other subs, specifically 'less than'.

Indeed I did.I remember reading a comparison between the Scorpene specifically and the Varshavyanka 636 focusing on the Malaysian tender in which the Scorpene came ahead.Not the mention that the Malaysian Scorpene lacks the AIP for now to.
