I want to start this thread on assumption that Pakistan has no utility helicopter program of its own...

As far my knowledge is concern it's not a big technology that Pakistan cannot make it's own utility helicopter's.... If I'm wrong correct me..

I think Pakistan army and civil defense forces really need utility helicopters for transportation of forces and goods....

I'm not asking of attack helicopter only simple utility helicopter...

List of utility helicopter..

AgustaWestland AW109
Aérospatiale SA 360 Dauphin
Bell Huey family
Eurocopter EC135
Eurocopter AS355
HAL Dhruv
Harbin Z-9
KAI KUH-1 Surion
Mil Mi-8
Mil Mi-17
NHIndustries NH90
Sikorsky S-70
Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk
Westland Lynx

UH-60 Blackhawk for sure, (Note MH-60 Seahawk was the reason why I had joined to academy)

We have 178 of these including Seahawks. Turkish Land Forces UH-60 Blackhawk squadron in Afghanistan:

The situation is better then 1998 when we started JF-17 program... When there is a will there is also a way...
but our needs ? janab bachy bary ho gaay hai beti ki shadi kerni hai or gher main 3 rooms hain 13 aadmi

moral of the story we need bijli gas jobs not helicopters :P ager ziada pesa hai to PIA ke liye jahaz hi le lo bhai 39 baki bachy hain ya rail ke engine le lo kisi ghareeb ke kam a jaay gay

Does Turkey have it's assembly line....

Is helicopter building a very big technology for country like Pakistan???? Is it very difficult technology???

Actually it depends on your needs. It would be very easier to create one like the Kamakovs that Russian Navy is using. But if you are looking for a reliable advanced platform, it needs development.

Reliability wise it is of course the MH-60 black Hawk, it's versatile, it's comes with only a little maintenance and it is reliable.
It'
s so good, even the Chinese PLA bought 24 of those and now reverse engineering into Z-20

The problem, as always is $$

IT did not even matter how reliable that was or how many function you can perform, as long as you don't have the money, what good you can do if you can just afford a few of them, or not even one at all? SoO the best transport heli for Pakistan is the one they can afford, you stack your money against functionality, that is how you can get all your money worth.

Pakistan asked for UH-60s from US and US told Pakistan to get lost. The only other real option is to start up a joint-venture with a dependable partner, e.g. China. If we had the funds I'm sure we would have signed onto something such as Z-15, but alas we have no funds to speak of... Fighting in Waziristan + Demolition'cracy drained us.

Wishing lists aside. The utility helo for Pakistan has ALREADY been decided. It is the Kazan Mi-17 for the PA and the Ulan Ude examples for the PAF.
