What's new

Fotros - new strategic drone

How can you even compare the weight of karayel and s129? Karayel is a toy and anka is a lost project constantly missing deadlines.
I would like to remind you of what burak bekdil said about Anka.

Burak bekdil is the most retarded journalist i have ever seen. I rather trust the words of SSM then read another words of this phucktards articles. Seems these days every single jounalist is a super military expert, and know everything better then SSM.

Regardless, if you dont agree with Anka or Kareyel take it to the Turkish forum. No need to fill this thread with Turkish industry related comments.

@mohsen Aside from having decent MTOW (Maximum Take off weight) its pretty similair to our Tactical Karayel UAV. As i said before, i consider the S-129 to be a Tactical UAV with some MALE elements.

MTOW : 500kg
Endurance: 20+ Hours
Operational Altitude: 23.000 ft
Cruise speed: 80 Knots
Take-off, flight and Landing: fully autonomous
How did you come up with the 500 kg number? With wingspan of 16 meters and flight endurance of 24h, its weight can not be below 800 kg. IRGC commander declared S-129 weight to be 1.2 tonnes, if I remember well, other members can correct it.

it may be heavier, but they are in the same class, this new drone which defense minister talked about is a different class, he specially used the phrase "global class" for it.

there is no competition, there is no award. and to add to the list of drone producers in Iran even our AD headquarter "khatamol anbia" is producing its own drones "Sarir" and "Hazem" series.
having different group of scientists working on similar field and sharing the result will boost country's advancement.

you are classifying them based on their weight. it's not common.
have a look here: (specially on the U.S air force section)
Unmanned aerial vehicle - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I meant the competition between army and sepah.

Mohsen jan, MQ-9 has a flight ceiling of 50000 ft, can carry about 1700kg of payload and has 7 hardpoint for carrying weapons, s-129 is in another category but I am sure that we will build drones comparable to Reaper, global hawk and certainly RQ-170

You can't compare Karayel to S-129, S-129 is similar to Anka except the fact that S-129 is armed.

I think He posted the specifications of Karayel-II Tactical UAV.

Actually those where the specs of the Karayel Tactical UAV, Aside from MTOW very similair to Shahed wouldnt you say. As i said earlier, i consider the S-129 to be an Tactical UAV with some MALE elements.

Fotros seems to be the only UAV i can consider MALE of all Iranian products thus so far. And the 2000km combat radius is simply bollocks to say the least.

the only categories that I know are those which you can see in wiki and has classified both predator and reaper in the same class.
Global hawk and RQ170 are in different classes and that's what I'm talking about.

It is true that both MQ-1 and MQ-9 are MALE class(but they are of different category), Global hawk is a HALE class UAV.

If we want to talk about classes S-129, Fotros and Reaper are all MALE UCAVs.

end of discussion.

A MALE UAV is a drone with a flight ceiling of 10000-30000 ft and endurance of 24-48 hours, S-129 has a flight ceiling of 24000 ft and endurance of 24 hours and you can't compare Karayel with S-129 just look at the sizes.

And Fotros doesn't have a combat radius of 2000 km, it has a RANGE of 2000 km

I seriously am confused when it comes to Iran's defense developments, they claim to have 5th gen stealth aircraft under production while the rest of the world other than the US is struggling with it, they claim armed drones production when other than the US no one else have something similar (including Russia/China/India/Europe), they have claimed own production of Medium transport aircrafts - while India has just tied up with Russia and haven't yet freezed the design, they claim to send humans and animals into space in their space missions while India (i believe has a much bigger space program than Iran) is struggling with it's GSLV program - what's happening guys? - are we missing something here?

soon we will publish it's flying videos.
but it doesn't matter how much they are similar, in the end they have a huge difference; our drones are working, unlike yours which are crashing one after another (and that's in case I ignore the hacking theory).

Please do tell us how they work lol, yes drones crash just like any other platform, compared to flight hours the incident rate of Israeli UAV's are the lowest, unlike Iranian drones with near zero flight hours.

Those are not simple works dude...[/quote]

Let me tell you what's going on:
1. We never claimed we have a 5th gen fighter. If you mean Qaher, that's not a 5th gen fighter and no official even claimed it and it take enough years to enter mass production (if the project doesn't get cancelled).
2. We do have armed drones and produced it, but only because many country didn't make them, doesn't mean it's a huge technical obstacle to produce armed drones, Israel also has armed drones. Maybe those other countries do not want to produce armed drones and prefer to buy them.
3. We never claimed 'production' of medium transport aircraft, it's undergoing initial design studies. We are few years away to make even a prototype.
4. We do have a planned manned space program and it's going to be executed not any sooner than 2020, if no problems block its way which can further delay it.
5.Sending animals in to space is not something that India can't do right now, so don't make it a huge thing.

Missing our daily flights from lebanon !?
A flying wing drone is under way ...
