Here you go. Those are the specs of major surface combatants:

With Syria and Iraq in their coffins , Greece bankrupt for life , Turkey should concentrate only on Navy and Airforce .

Definitely as you said especially on airforce, without a strong air force what is the point of land force. I could always bomb you from the air. The only exception is if we had a very very strong air defence which we don't also. We should cut the land force budget by half and transfer to air force.

Meanwhile the Japanese navy.

These are the men who'll kick China'z azz all over the pacific while we're busy with our internal problems.
@gr8vision most of those men died because of poor equipment and poor strategy. I assure you our conscripts especially those who serve in terror-infested areas are very well trained. We stood at defense for too long because of political BS.

This is what happens when the army is in the offence:

Yay, the JMSDF! BTW What is that photo about?

Neptune the air defence capabilities of the MEKO and other ships are very bad, short range missiles which can be easily destroyed by enemy aircraft so they are useless except against enemy ships.

They're not that bad. RIM-162 a.k.a ESSM is a reliable SAM missile at the current situation. But we can't rely them forever...as that time they will be replaced by TF-100. We have a plenty of upgraded Perrys (G-class) under GENESIS-2. Which they recieved RIM-67ER that has a range of 170-190km. And now we have 8 G-class frigates. Which means they are capable of defending our maritime air space, but for now only. Due to that reason we have a AAW Frigate/Destroyer project called TF-2000, it's likely to recieve SM-3. Just sit back, relax, be patient and wait for a while to our major projects :)

Why not create an 8,000+ destroyer based on the models of the Arliegh Burke Class DDG? That's what Japan (Kongo and Atago Class DDG) and South Korea (Sejong the Great) had done.

naah. They don't have a Navy&Air force that's equalent to TAF. Like most ME countries, they relied on their army only. And Greece, well Greece is a failed nation.

Our current budget should be about 36-37 bn $, as it was 30 in 2012. NAVY has the biggest piece in the budget for a very long time. :)

it was also an option that taking Type 45 or Arleight Burke as base model. But today the foreign dependency of TAF is about 55-60% and the gov't is likely to increase that number. Hight-tech, reliable domestic products are the primary op of the SSM (Under Secreteriat for Defence)

What type of Radar will TF-2000 will use? Phased Array Radar or Long Range AESA Radar system? Will there be an Turkish equivalent to Aegis Naval Combat System? BTW who is the women in you profile pic?

1- It'll use ÇAFRAD (under development), a phased array radar
2-Yes. there'll be a turkish Aegis sysem. Which is under development in co-operation between HAVELSAN and Lockheed Martin

-Phase-1 contains development of illumination radar and non-rotating IFF system.
-Phase-2 contains development of long range surveillance&Multifunctional radars.

Huge Radar complex of TF-2000 AAW frigate are formed with 4 surface which provides 360 degree surveillance/detection/tracking and identification. Each surface has 3 different scale of radar system.

With completion of program (2016-17), TF-2000 frigates will be able to counter coming ballistic missiles, aircrafts, cruise missiles and many other s from long ranges. Coverage area of CAFRAD would be similar to the image presented under.

Your Navy needs to launch it's own communication and SAR satellites.

And for people who think the navy can be neglected must be shot in their heads.

Navy is not only an arm of the armed forces but also a very important diplomatic arm too.

And no other force has the reach and responsibility like how a navy does.

Yes we are going to launch SAR satellite I think it was 2015.

Can someone tell me the difference between phased array radar and AESA radar which is better.

AESA is a type of phased array radar only

fundementals of how a phased array is better

AESA is better than PESA because it is harder to intercept and jam because each T/R module will be emitting radiowaves in different frequencies and because of frequency hopping it is harder to jam.

Is type45 the best air defence destroyer? What will the TF2000 lack that type45 has
