==============================================================================

This is a fact. I had written several times on different E-forums about
a strong presence of RAW in Bangladesh, when I was studying in India,
back in 1987, November issue of "SUNDAY" Magazine from Annada Bazar Patrika
published an Article called "TOP SECRET", where it clearly says that
BANGLADESH has more RAW agents than any other country of the world and RAW
is more successful in Bangladesh than in any other country of the world.

RAW was behind the killing of our x-President Ziaur Rahman. Refer to the same
article; it's not me telling this, it's the India's best weekly Magazine
telling this about the success story of RAW. It's time for our Bangladesh
government to wake up and take some action against the traitors who are
working for RAW on Bangladeshi soil.

Wake up Bangladesh and avoid Indian goods, where we have $1.3 Billion/yr
trade deficit with India.

Thanks to New Nation for the good Article.

RAW deploys hundreds of agents to watch Bangladesh defence

Monitoring Army

Staff Reporter

Powerful Indian intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), is
learnt to have deployed innumerable agents to keep close watch on Bangladesh
defence and collect information about its operation.

Informed sources said that it was revealed during interrogation of
Akashuzzaman alias Abul who was arrested on Monday last in Sylhet. Son of
Nuruzzaman of Guabari of Jointapur of Sylhet district, Abul confessed that
he had been working for a long time like hundreds of others across the
country to monitor the activities of the Bangladesh Armed Forces and
regularly report to the RAW operatives. Even he used to go to India without
passport routinely to reach the sensitive information personally.

He reportedly said that his operator always insisted on graphic presentation
of the deployment of Bangladesh Army, specially its establishments. His
recent report was entitled "Cantonment Report" which he handed over to BSF
camp across Sylhet border.

Abul used various alibi to collect information or move around. Sometime he
would present himself as an Army personnel or at other time he would wear
BDR uniform or even he would move as a member of the Ansar to hoodwink
people.

He said that he would meet with the BSF and RAW officials whenever he was
asked to meet and get the orders of the day. He said his reports were
accurate specially about the army installations and personnel. He had
prepared a map of these installations which he had already submitted to the
RAW officials.

He disclosed that he heard that RAW had deployed hundreds of agents across
Bangladesh to watch the defence.

Army is learnt to have raided his house in his village home and found
important documents and pictures. Army also recovered his pictures in
uniform of army, BDR and Ansar from a photo studio located near Sylhet
Cantonment.

Army handed over Abul to Police for further investigation.

Incidentally Abul was arrested a couple of days before Indian Deputy Prime
Minister L K Advani launched an unprecedented tirade against Bangladesh
accusing this country of harboring Al-Qaeda and Talibans. Even he asserted
that the deputy of Osama bin Laden was now living in Bangladesh, which the
government rejected summarily.

Sources suspect that India launched the campaign deliberately and whipped it
up internationally in order to gain confidence of big powers which looks at
such propaganda with sympathy.

Incidentally to back up with its campaign India also moved additional troops
to Bangladesh order to beef up its already strong presence along the border.
The recent increase in incidents of BSF firing on Bangladeshis, even
attacking the outposts of the BDR, is seen as deliberate by the observers.

When contacted an official of the Bangladesh government refused to comment.
While admitting that India moved fresh forces along the border, he said that
the government was watching with incredulity these developments on Indian
side.(The New Nation)

what is the use of this thread. 47-today. Blaming RAW and etc.

Sorry if it bothers you, but we need to monitor, record and study foreign intelligence activity in our land mass.

I would not do finger pointing, but suffice it to say that the result of interference will always be bad in the long term. USA did it in South America for many decades and the result is a virulent form of anti-Americanism there.
Well what can I say. I don't see India messing up in your affairs.

At least somebody is giving some credit to RAW, in India they are usually abused for failures.. (most even dont know such an agency exists)

It is like out of 10 Intelligence agencies of different countries, you pin pointed only RAW.

Not really. Best thing about RAW is that no one know more about it, even Indians too, And they have delivered astonishing results. Its because of few PM of India that resulted in few failures.

Lets agree to disagree on that point.
Well, I agree with you. Do you think India wouldn't have influence after your Independence ?

And more you got close to China, more things India will try. I know its bad, but its their job.

Having said that, RAW's major work was not to let Pakistan's ISI and LeT like terrorist groups to cause trouble in our NE states.

We have to protect and keep NE at any cost.

The two country that has direct stake in Bangladesh are India and Burma. With Burma we have a small border and almost no trade relation or shared river.

India obviously is a whole other ball game.

The rest of the world's interest in Bangladesh do not come anything close to India, hence everything points to the direction of RAW, as it matches with circumstantial evidence on the ground and published in various books and articles.

This was due to ISI activity back during East Pakistan time. BNP looked the other way on ULFA.

I think you have a belief that other than AL, which is under your control, everyone else like BNP-Jamat 14 party alliance will do mischief in NE states.

BNP-Jamat 14 alliance need to come clean on this issue and drop their support for NE insurgents and you guys need to drop your support for AL and any internal interference in Bangladesh. That is the best way forward.

There is one more country and I would not like to name it because this will b a troll call. But India has stake only to get business or give business. Terrorists used Bangladesh to escape or infiltrate into India but now it has been reduced. Thanks to Bangladesh. And It was not any Indian intel agency work, the credit goes to BD.

What is the name of external intelligence agency of bd? they must be very secretive...

That's what RAW do. When ISI supported Khalistan, RAW created Sindhudesh movement, both then agreed not to interfere in those region.

RAW has to create Quid Pro Quo. Otherwise helping ISI, LeT or ULFA, will make things bad for BD and may be for India too.

As you said, there is no other way.

DGFI(Directorate General of Forces Intelligence)
NSI( National Security Intelligence) responsible for external intelligence.

You have to give credit to them for minimizing terrorist routes via Bangladesh targeting India.

BNP admins may have made their mistakes and they have paid dearly for it. Hopefully they have learned their lessons. But I am not confident that you guys will drop your support for AL, ever. Once Bangladeshi's get sufficiently mad with AL misrule, they will be removed from power. It may happen in 1 year or 6 years or 11 years, but it will happen eventually. And all this time anti-India feeling will grow in Bangladesh. So supporting AL is bad for India's long term interest. I hope you guys choose wisely looking after your own long term interest.
