What's new

Iran starts manufacturing Jamaran 2 "destroyer"

How many Frigates / Destroyers does peace loving Nation Iran , currently operates

If they have 10-20 ships they are in good shape , I heard they had some ships which they have in docks and they don't put milage on them and rarely use these ships

Well Iran already has 20 Locally Produced Submarines (Mini Submarines)

The term "Destroyer" is a translation error. This is because frigates and destroyer are both called "Nav-shekan" in Persian. The exact word to word translation is more similar to destroyer and thus makes a lot of confusion

Anyway Jamaran 2 is actually under construction from 2009 and is being tested right now.

we will unveil this frigate this year

It looks like a large patrol boat.

Don't use the word destroyer every time i read the designation i thing our Iranian brother have made som thing extra ordinary but after seeing the picture and getting specification makes me

both jamaran-1 and jamaran-2 have AESA radar

They are going to have AESA radar. Jamaran-2 will have it from the beginning and Jamaran-1 is going to be upgraded after that.

This make us angry too. The only Iranian news agency with a real military section is Mashreghnews but unfortunately it doesn't publish it's main articles in English.

it's a translation thing I think. We call them all "nav-shekan." At least growing up that's what I was thought to say. Nav-shekan's closest translation to English is destroyer.

Does Iran have the project to build the large destroyer?
