What Should be the "ideal" size of the Pakistan Navy in 2020.

which sea are you talking about?
He is talking about nuclear powered submarines and aircraft carriers. Then he means King of world sea.
This is possible if we get Pace in economy and GDP around 7+. Inshallah this is possible, we will see 7+ GDP at the end of 2013 in the leadership of imran khan. Then with the GDP of 8+ in 2015, We will deal nuclear submarines and aircraft carriers.

I guess we don't even need to work like DOGs or DONKEYZ for this $$$ or the GDP fraud stuff. We just need to follow the footsteps of the US by just start printing the US $$$ and use it ....We don't need to waste time for earning $$$...US never earned it and we don't need to earn it , they just print it and the whole world work for it ...US never work for it....so the whole world is termed as slave of their paper $$$/money.When we will have our own $$$ printing machines here then we can develop everything, Nuclear subs or whatever we like.......:smokin:

Does Pakistan Navy have a Destroyer ?
No. It has frigates. It used to be the case that the UK designation of 'frigate' (FF) referred to a ship that under the US designation would be called 'destroyer escort' (DE). A destroyer escort is a destroyer which has sacrifices speed for range (i.e. fewer boilers but more bunkerage in the old days) and anti-ship weapons like torpedoes for a anti-air weapons like guns. The frigate/DE possessed less offensive firepower and speed than a destroyer, but such qualities were not required for anti-submarine warfare, which was their primary task.

No and thats the ironic thing.... the people here seem to be planning a AC but their navy dosn't even have a destroyer for escourt

I'ld put a Dutch LCF (Zeven provincien class frigate) against most any current destroyer any day ;-)

Last PN destroyers were ex-Brit County class and ex-US Gearing FRAM I class

This is not a Case of Printing Dollars. US "1 Trillion dollar" Loan from China doesn't mean that US print machines are finished, As Rupees in Pakistan contains some value of Gold, even you can claim Gold from "Rs" money from the Bank, and they are bound to give same worth of Gold. Dude,to correct you, Dollar is not just a piece of Paper. :pop:

I don`t understand why we are not doing serial production of F22P frigates , we need to have 10 F22P frigates at least to call ourselves a navy

Somali pirates have more boats in Arabian sea then our 4 F22P frigates:whistle:

How about this going 1 on 1

King Sejong the great

Well, what about it?

Of course, you don't put ship A against ship B but ship A against 'the threat' and then ship B against 'the threat'.

The korean ship is clearly more oriented toward power projection. LCF carries less ordnance but not lesser ordnance and systems and is certainly no less capable in e.g. AAW or ASW or ASuW.

The ROKN ship in question is top of the line, even when compared to USN Burkes and JMSDF Kongo/Atago class destroyers. LCF is more the comparable to Type 45, Horizon, F100 with which is can easily compete. And with Type 052C and/or P15A for that matter ....

main difference in armaments:
1) the number of VLU-cells (80+48 cells with total 128 missiles versus max 48 cells with 32+8+32=72 missiles) which
- allows the KStG to carry more SM2 which ZP/LCF partially compensates by carrying a bunch of quad-packed ESSM that KStG doesn't carry.
- allows KStG to carry 32 domestic LAM versus 8 Tomahawks on LCF (assume 6th mk41 installed)
- allows KStG to carry 16 K-Asroc (LCF could carry similar, if at expense of SAMs or LAM)
2) 2 versus 1 hangar > 2 SH60 versus 1 NH90
Minor dif's in armament
3) Goalkeeper+RAM versus 2x Goalkeeper (1 Goalkeeper could be traded for RAM on LCF is needed)
4) 16 SSM-700K versus 8 Harpoons (some additional Harpoon could surely be added to LCF if needed)

^^^ Sir I was just asking that what can be the "outcome" if they both engage with 1 on 1 with nothing else(i mean platform like ship, a/c, or sub). So LCF is more stealthier than the other, now I don't know much about radars but they look to me at par, SMART-L is indigenous whereas SPY is American. The difference comes at firepower, LCF might be able to hide itself for some more time, but once it got on the screen of Sejong, the odds might be different. This is strictly my opinion, and I am just a layman in naval warfare, whereas you look very professional, so please pardon me...

In a 1-on-1, its how long you can keep fighting. The bigger ship with the more plenty supply of missiles will likely be able to absorb more damage while continuing to fire SSMs at the smaller and catching its SSMs with SAM.

Gwadar and Karachi will become Pakistan's most important cities in 2020, and many people will have their eye on these cities so its very important for Pakistan to strengthen its navy. Indians will try to come into our Sir Creek and try to drill for gas and oil below the sea bed when countries fight over natural resources. So build your navy, Pakistan.

Pakistan needs a strong navy and a strong air force. Focus on the navy because it needs more work.
