Indian Navy Anti-Piracy Efforts

Yes it was a deplorable incident but inspite of the cover up which the Police did we have started an open independant inquiry for which the family of this guy has been flown down free of cost from Brazil.

Witnesses have openly refuted the Police version.

BTW would your country do that in this case a BIG NADA.

BTW what about the Delhi encounter ? Again a Big NADA.

Regards

What British police did was because of mistaken identity, the way the Brazilian behaved which led to his killing. I'm saying, the pirate incident might also be similar to that, a case of mistaken identity, the way pirates have behaved, which led to the firing.

Whether Indian Navy/GoI will cover up or not, only time will tell.

In Delhi encounter, things are still murky, no body knows what is the real truth. You have to remember, a police inspector has died in this killing. If it was an encounter why would Police kill their own men. Please don't tell me that it might be a friendly fire.

Experts said the Indian navy's increasingly muscular approach to the problem could not be criticised. A third of India's 900 cargo ships were at risk from piracy, they said.

"The route through the Gulf of Aden is a link to the Suez Canal, it is a vital link especially for India's energy needs. So they are trying to do something to protect their own interests and shipping,"
said Nimal Perera of Aitken Spence, shipping agents in Colombo.

Dear SMG,

You are totally of the mark.

Brazillian Incident : It was a **** up of horrendous proportions.

He did not act strangely as the Police claimed.
He was misidentified as the agent keeping a watch on the house was peeing when Charles stepped out.
The officers never stopped him from entering the Tube station.
The officers never warned him(they insist they did) as all the witnesses now have confirmed.

Thai Incident :

IN never bothered to check with IMB on the status of the vessel.
Every military ship of every navy except the Russian Navy knew about the hostages.
The Captain was foolish enough to bring his ship if we have to believe the Indian version close enough to make an RPG as a threat.
We would have never come to know the truth if the Cambodian sailor had not survived. Btw the 100 mm main gun has range of 10 NM whereas a RPG is 300 mtrs.
The Indian Navy should have carried out a search and rescue with choppers irrespective if the survivors were pirates or hostages.

Delhi Incident

In the scuffle there are very good chances that he may have accidentally been shot by his own men. Why not have an independant inquiry as we do and let the truth be known.

Regards

That was until he came to know that INS Tabar murdered 15 innocent people.

This story came out a few minutes ago. Care to read the headline?

Yes I did but it does not say when the so called expert gave his comments. He probably gave it when the whole world believed the Indian version.

Dont worry there is a witness the truth will be out soon. As an old sea dog I can see the writing on the wall.

Do you understand the meaning of the word RETALIATE?????

Let me repeat:

Retaliate
Retaliate
Retaliate

Check the dictionary here: retaliate definition | Dictionary.com

Now that we all know the meaning of retaliate, let me repeat my sentence:

The INS Tabar Retaliated when fired at. That's what they were supposed to do and that's what they did.

No captain would risk his ship by simply standing by while he is being attacked by RPGs.

Oh, and please do tell me where it says that you cannot check any boat unless you have a UN Mandate.

According to your "retaliate", if Chinese army "incursion" across LAC, you should nuke Beijing to retaliate. :disagree:

retaliate? lol... so you mean isrealis have full rights to "retaliate" with rockets when their soldiers are being attacked by rock throwging kids?
pirates are not terrorists whom you have to shoot at sight if fired upon by small arms.. and lol... give me a brakee.. your IN is lying that they were attacked by rpgs.. most probibly ak-47 shots.. lol.. and you IN biggest lie was that they have destroyed a mother ship while the real pirates escaped the scene when IN was busy destroying thai fishing boat.. good going IN. :enjoy: i am sure IN fanboys are happy at you..

Yes,gulf of Eden has become a problematic thing now .

This Pirates are nothing but water terrorist and I feel many big shot are also behind this .
I was watching on TV that No law,Rules regulations apply their .We really need to do something .

I hope they are the Pirates this time and they don't turn out to be a someone else later on as it has happened before when India Navy Sank a Pirate ship but later on it turned out to be a Thai trawler, I hope that's not the case this time.

Indian Navy should Make Indian shores safe and well protected first before involving in International waters and taking care of the pirates.

I hardly think the two are mutually exclusive.

Besides, coastal patrolling is the job of the coast-guard.

Off course they are not mutually exclusive for Indian Navy at least as Indian Navy is large enough to handle both the jobs simaltanoulsy. And as i said before i hope they are the pirates this time and they don't turn out to be some one else as in the previous case.

Well if i am not wrong Coastal Protection from foreign invaders is a job of the navy and this is what i meant and this is what Indian Navy wanted during Exercise named "Defence of Gujrat"

In the previous case they were pirates, but unfortunately the Navy did not realize that the boat was not a pirate vessel, but a trawler which was hijacked by pirates (it seems that it was not possible to make that distinction because the pirates used fishing trawlers as well)

Keeping piracy in control is vital for the Indian economy, because those shipping lanes are used by the majority of ships heading for Indian ports. It would be a big blow to India if those waters were considered unsafe.

There is a difference between "invaders" and "infiltrators". The latter is tackled by the coast-guard, the former by the navy.
