Wu Bangguo: China will never have multiparty government

Every word has a particular meaning/definition..I am not saying Chinese system is good or bad, but its not just democracy, as it does not satisfy the basic principles of democratic rule..no amount of fancy word play can change that.

PS: I never knew China/Chinese were a wannabe democracy or why the obsession to relate with that particular word..just call your self something else(eg Communist), nothing wrong in it.

:coffee: Each country is different, they need different rules.
Master the rules country, it controls the distribution of benefits.

Master the rules = Master the world

Do you understand "大义" and "挟天子以令诸侯"?

Now it is "挟民主以令诸侯". :pop:

This is not my definition but definition of democracy itself

Equality of all citizens(every citizens has equal right elect his representative, is equal under the eyes of law and enjoys freedom expression is what is democracy, anything other than this is just something else.

India is not democratic then. Not all Indians are equal. Some are born oligarchs and others are born as bacteria colonies in the Ganges. Some can kill thousands with a pen and some are part of the thousands killed. None of them were elected for their positions, they were just born that way.

Why not? KMT can never win an election anyways, not with their track record. It is important for solving an 80 year old problem in Chinese politics.

Of course we have to show a united front to foreigners. Internal debate is fine but external debate should be strictly forbidden.

Of course, CCP still gonna win the election. I think 2/3 would favor CCP.

However, the election is a waste of money and would cause more internal feuds.

And some people born in post-60 or post-70 would probably tend to favor KMT since many middle age people tend to blame CCP for housing price and inflation.

well, they should still allow protests tho.

Let them, it's a pressure valve, and CPC will always win anyways. The tragedy of China's past was never military strength or economic weakness. We're already wasting huge money on elections, behind the scenes of course. Hell even in the open, people spend huge money on elections (through corruption):

Nothing changes, just put what's right now "behind the scenes" into a "open" and use it to calm and entertain the masses. Very good money spent since a small investment in a "show" can save massive money for the censors and police.

We have 80000 protests per year.

True, CCP is more pro-people and pro-development.

If KMT replaces CCP, then China gonna turn into South Korean-ish type of government, waste of money and warmongering against its neighbors. However, the Chinese people would suffer because of these.

Some Indian members can keep dreaming that KMT to take China and lets Tibet/Xinjiang go independent. In fact, they gonna act more hostile toward India because of South Tibet.

If KMT take over, then it would destabilize Asia, and more feuds between India/Russia and China. Then US gonna be the ultimate winner of this divide and conquer tactics in Asia.

KMT can never win though. the worst days of CPC, great leap forward, were only "ordinary" days of the KMT and even India!

Great Leap Forward - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Former Chinese dissident and political prisoner, Minqi Li, a Marxist Professor of Economics at the University of Utah, has produced data showing that even the peak death rates during the Great Leap Forward were in fact quite typical in pre-Communist China. Li (2008) argues that based on the average death rate over the three years of the Great Leap Forward, there were several million fewer lives lost during this period than would have been the case under normal mortality conditions before 1949. [59]

Utsa Patnaik,Professor of Economics at the Centre for Economic Studies and Planning, Jawaharlal Nehru University, argues that some of the very high mortality estimates attributed to the Great Leap Forward, are in part a statistical construct, motivated by an underlying political agenda. Patnaik points out the following: "....because China in the single preceding decade of building socialism, had reduced its death rate at a much faster rate (from 29 to 12 comparing 1949 and 1958) than India had, this sharp rise to 25.4 in 1960 in China still meant that this "famine" death rate was virtually the same as the prevalent death rate in India which was 24.6 per thousand in 1960, only 0.8 lower. This latter rate being considered quite "normal" for India, has not attracted the slightest criticism. Further, in both the preceding and the suceeding year India's crude death rate was 8 to 10 per thousand higher than in China."[60]

And this was admitted by even a DISSIDENT and assuming going by westerner's statistics. There is no evidence of a single person dying in the Great Leap Forward. Only hardcore racists like the discredited Frank Dikotter can possibly say otherwise. If you notice, almost all the sources about CPC's negative news come from 5 people: the Saddam wannabe Chai Ling, the CIA terrorist Dalai Lama, the white worshipping hoe Jung Chang, the hardcore racist Frank Dikotter, and the traitor Yang Jisheng.

KMT's crimes against humanity are too great for words. In their 37 years of misrule, going by the 29/1000 death rate in 1949, they have starved 536,500,000 people to death. Although some of that was from Japanese invasion, even giving them the generous 90% Japanese fault, KMT still starved 53,650,000 people to death, a genocide greater than WW2.

1936 was their best chance to annihilate TG, once they missed that chance, their fate was already sealed.

The problem is not a word, only in the meaning of the word, democracy is no different and communism, all are idealistic. China's understanding of democracy is the practical problem. I'm tired of pointless fighting and some Indians. I hope we take a good discussion.

I have no problem with Chinese system of governance...to each his own.. but to call it democracy will be infinitely wrong..some states endeavor to become democracies, but are only partially successful due to various intrinsic factors but China does not even try.
and Chinese seem happy with their system of governance so why is there is this hep new need to relate yourself to the word "democracy "..as far as I even the Chinese govt doesnot do it.

Hey..I get it..to each his own..by why try to pass yourself as something you are not ..with western media 24/7 on Chinese case ..I see you are still on defensive.
PS: I don't understand Mandarin.

Democracy does not ensure that all citizen will be born equal..have equal amount of wealth or born into families wielding equal amount of power or status..what it endeavors to ensure is

All citizen will be equal under the eyes of law.
All citizen will have equal right to vote and elect their representatives or be elected them selves.
And even person from lowest of families can hold highest of offices.

offcourse there will exceptions to the above as ideal democracy does not exist yet.

as you can see in the links i have given (use google translate) we indeed have that, everyone can vote and anyone can be voted in, though not to all positions. this is expected and is true of all democracies. Hu Jintao was dirt poor and has no background in anything yet became President. The constitution of our country explicitly defines us as a democratic nation.

Well there you said it yourself..you do not satisfy the base criteria itself..in democracy the constitution itself does not bar you from holding any position, but obviously there are other hindrances..which are chiseled out as a democracy matures with time..but I still don't understand your carnal need to be seen as some kind of democracy?

That's wrong. Try voting for the Secretary of Defense in the US. You can't. It's appointed.
